Muguruza vs Bouchard- who will have the better career

These players are almost the same age, born without 6 months of each other. They now share the same main achievement- a Wimbledon final. It will most likely be a Wimbledon runner up for both, but you never know, we will see Saturday. Who will end up having the better career, and who looks to have more potential now (trying to look past Bouchard's slump if you can).

Hey, Robson is their age too!

I hope they all have great careers (I'm including Laura in that) but right now it doesn't look especially likely. It's tough to know what to believe, but both Robson and Bouchard seem to have pretty crappy attitudes. Garbine has gone through a kind of a mini slump post her success at Roland Garros last year, and has climbed out of it admirably at the slams this year. Hopefully she can keep it up, and not fall into a funk like the other two have done. The future could be bright for the womens game if so. It will be very interesting to see how Muguruza handles the occasion on Saturday. She's shown in Paris last year, and Australia this year that playing Serena isn't exactly a problem for her, but this is obviously a whole other thing now.

Bouchard is literally going to follow the same path as Kournikova, she's got all the endorsements she needs already. Muguruza will earn her millions on the court.

A year ago you would have all said Bouchard. Now you say Muguruza. When/if Laura Robson takes off next year, everyone will say her. It's a predictably myopic perspective we have here.

Garbine continues to climb in the rankings, and goes on to win 2-3 slams. Bouchard/Robson's best tennis is already behind them, they make their money off the court.

Bouchard's heart doesn't seem in it. She seems more interested in meetings celebs and taking selfies. It is a shame

Tomorrow may tell us the answer.

Bouchard got battered 6-3 6-0 in her Wimbledon final and looked out of her depth (although granted Kvitova was 'on').

Suspect Muguruza, despite playing a better player in Williams, will put up a decent fight and only lose about 7-5 6-4, earning a lot of cred in the process. That's my prediction anyway.

To be honest I would have said Muguruza last year. I was never that impressed by Bouchard's game inspite of her results, and had a feeling she was overachieving and capatilizing on draws falling perfectly for her. I didnt expect her to fall off this sharply though.

Yeah I could see Bouchad still doing commerical and interviews about making the finals of Wimbledon.
