The main strings will provide the majority of the feel. Some estimate 70 - 80%. In my experience it is at the lower end of the range...perhaps even in the 60's though I have no idea how this can accurately be measured...it's basically feel and intuition.
So to answer your question...no, it won't play exactly the same. The string bed will definitely take on characteristics of both the mains and crosses. However, if you are looking to add some crispness to your multis and are looking to bring down the cost of the string job, (assuming a high end multi and an average solid core), then hybriding may be exactly what you are seeking.
