Multis that bite or grip the ball

What multi filament strings bite the ball well?

Multifeel black and nrg2 work fine for me. Velocity and nxt do not.

I need the string to have some bites into the ball to have good control. It's less obvious in groundstrokes, but very obvious in serves. My serve is good enough to trouble 4.0 players.

When I have velocity and nxt in the mains, I hit many shots, with good spin, still way off target. The ball on the string bed feels a bit like dog on ice. I have no issues controlling ball placement with natural gut or sharp poly in the mains.

I've tried out a bunch of multis. None of them bite quite like poly mains or gut/poly hybrid, but maybe you'll find something you like. In case it helps, here are the top multis/synguts in the TW database based on highest "string-to-ball" coefficient. If you do try any of these out, you'll probably want to string velocity in the crosses. Personally, I don't think any of the ones that I've tried on this list grab the ball any better than Multifeel mains x Velocity crosses. Maybe AK control does for like an hour, but then it starts sticking.

Multifeel mains x Velocity crosses have been the go to set up for my son. I'm exploring multi main poly cross as a poor man's natural gut poly hybrid. Maybe I should just stop wasting time...

Babolat Xalt isn't bad, its got a good slick coating due to some glass bead technology or something and it doesn't wear off.
So it doesn't "bite" persay but does have good snapback to help produce spin
It is firmer for a multi, but still plenty comfy

I have X-one biphase in my 6.1 95 16/19 and it feels really nice. If I didn't know off the bat, it would have taken me a minute to suspect that my stringer didn't use poly

Yes, this one felt good too! So basically I like technifibre multis...
