131-7 in slams without the big 3 from 2010 to 2016 is the most impressive cherry pick stat by far.

Almost as impressive as Stan winning 11 straight finals, including three Majors, beating Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic(x2).

How many of Roddick's wins were over top10s?

Already showed you the error of this thinking when I pointed out;

- Grosjeans impressive three year grass record
- Hewitt being being ranked just outside the top 10 in 2004 at Queens
- Ancic making the SF of Wimbledon and being an obvious top 10 grass court player that year

Memory like a sieve you must have...

So most of Roddick's finals won were in 250 events over players outside the top10.

Thanks.

Notice how there are none against Federer though, who he struggled with and didn't beat since AO 2013, which basically comes close to the start of the win streak.

Djokovic is clearly The Chosen One. I wonder why he left Jesus to dry on the cross, while Novak got two generations of clowns to play with.

Life sure is unfair.

It was like injured Nadal, dead Djokovic, one legit Djokovic win and about 8 Chennais

Three Majors, one Masters Series, three 500 level, and four 250 level. I'll amend my prior post. Murray's "run" isn't almost as good as Stan's streak. It's a couple notches below.

This topic has just reminded me that a guy who won minor titles for the majority of his career with scattered losses to so many players suddenly managed to get unlimited stamina for 3 years and win 11 straight titles before sinking back into mediocrity. With the best players in history you see the potential their entire career with SF and F runs but with Wawrinka it came out of nowhere and suddenly he can compete with Djokovic over 5 sets and even beat him? Riiiiiight

Rafter was 1-6 in finals, winning 1 minor grass court title, heading into the 1997 U.S. Open. He then won 9 of his next 12 finals, including 2 U.S. Opens, losing only to Sampras (Grand Slam Cup & Cincinnati) and Kuerten (Rome).

Sorry for some reason I started thinking about pharmaceutical companies, don't really know why...

Wanna take it a step further? His sudden rise to winning started right around the time Federer was dropping in the rankings and looking like he might drop out of the top 10 and everyone was thinking it was the beginning of the end for him. Coicidence? Nah, totally just my tin toil hat thinking.

Was Murray expected to lose to Verdasco, Ferrer , Robredo and Dmitrov ? Murray could never beat Federer and Nadal when it counted.

Stanimal’s elevation coincided with hiring Magnus Norman in April 2013, months after losing a tough 5-set loss in a slam to Joe Kovic. He had won 3 ATP250 titles in his career. Immediately, he grabbed another title on clay (Oeiras), a final vs The Nadal at Madrid and a QF at RG vs The Nadal. At USO he went down in five again to Joe Kovic but set the table for revenge at AO’14.

I’m sure Stanimal wishes he had joined up earlier with Norman but the Swedish guru was busy building Soderling into a multiple slam finalist from nothing.

As to fading, go ahead and have 2x knee surgery and see how it stalls your advancment in your tennis career. Stan is finally close to 2014-17 level. I’m sad he was the first to lose to Zedraffe in a slam QF six months ago but taking mdvdv out from 2-1 down R16 was a joy.

He will be a dangerous out for anyone at USO/RG if they either or both.

Did 2008 US Open, 2010 Australian Open, 2013 Australian Open or 2012 Olympic final (counts for me) not count for you? What does?

Nah he's a way away and always will be at this point, be reasonable man.

Just put him Joe Kovic’s section and wait for the rigged draw kvetching. He’s #17 in the rankings so he will move to #16 or better for USO due to fedr’s absence and the supposed skipping by #2 The Nadal. 4R and QFs could be the right time to tangle with ********.
