Murray developing a nalbandian type backhand

All-rounder

Legend
I think since Wimbledon Murray has proved to us that he can play with the big dogs but i think that his backhand is quite underrated as some people see him as just a pusher with decent groundstrokes but if you watch the match against nadal at the US Open semi's 2008

this match seems very similar?? nalbandian vs nadal Paris masters 2007
murray is somewhat doing the same thing that nalby did as to using his backhand to exploit nadal's forehand in which nadal making and error which i must say nadal doesn't do that often as he's standing metres behind the baseline the whole time

What I'm pointing out is that murray is a tactician player who figures out a way of finding weaknesses which players like nalbandian and federer do

And i think that Federer is the only player on the circuit who senses that murray can be a danger in the future especially to him

whats you view?

I'd have to agree. Murray's backhand has defintely improved and that is one factor of why he has goten so good lately.

I think he has a good shot of taking a GS this year. I think his best chance is to make a move at the AO imo.

His backhand, his a weapon, heck even more than his forehand, I think. Just watch highlights with his match against Nadal at the AO in '06.

I am not sure what Nalbandian type bh is but their playing style is quite different. David's bh has more speed and closer to lines with more accuracy vs Murray's pusher style that more than not take the speed off the ball.

Isee Nalbandian's backhand as explosive, and can seriously redirect the ball almost at any time.

Murray's backhand has some crazy pace when he takes a whack at it though, whether that be down the line or cross court.

Maybe underrated by some of the crackpots on these boards, but people on TV have been raving about his backhand for a long time now. He arguably has the second most versatile backhand in tennis right now behind Federer, and probably the BEST slice backhand of any two-handed player.
