in looking at the draw, i think Murray has a really good chance to win the French.

there is a reasonable chance of a Djok/Nadal QF 4-5 hour battle. this this happens Murray can swoop in a beat the wounded victor in the Semis.

the bottom half is not that strong, he will likely face a tired Fed or Kei (who is a weaker version of Murray). a potential issue for Murray is Stan, but i don't think Stan will be able to bomb his way to the Finals, he is bound to have an off day and he has no plan B.

He has a chance I think he'll make the semifinal. And he has a reasonable chance of beating Nadal/Djokovic there (maybe a 20% if it's Djokovic and a 30% if it's Nadal). I'd then favor him over anyone who makes the final.

Nishikori ain't weaker version of Murray. They have different playing styles.

Murray is not winning French most likely. Most favourable scenario for him will be beating Ferrer with minimum expense of energy and having exhausted Djokovic/Nadal in semis. This court and conditions are different than Madrid, conditions are too slow here. Ultimately one with best athletic abilities and stamina will prevail from top half and we know who currently has edge in this department.
