It seems like for the past 2 years, he's been picked as the fav for almost every slam, which is 'due', and so far he has done absolutely nothing. I understand the British press are going crazy, and if he wins good for him, but the constant hype is disgusting.

Over-hyped probably, but thats just the way the British press is. He is a damn good player, who has a pretty good chance of beating Fed.

Most UK press/commentators think he'll lose as a matter of fact.

I also think if other countries with a similar tradition to tennis/sports as Britain weren't to have the equivalent of a male slam winner in so many years, they, too, might get a bit worked up about it!

The Aussies are already getting a bit edgy since Lleyton's getting older and there doesn't seem to be a clear successor. Same here in the US, though tennis isn't nearly popular enough to elicit the same reaction as in the UK.

Not Murray's fault so I wouldnt say I want Roger to beat him just to put the press back in its place but I agree its annoying.

He's played 6 slams since he entered the top 6. He's made 2 finals, a semi and a quarter, whilst winning multiple masters series and beating his top4 peers on a regular basis - and you object to some people tipping him to win a slam?
