Coaching the world's greatest tennis player has proved a tough new learning experience for Murray:

“It's always one of those things I found as a player that you never know the speed of your own shot, the speed of your ball, what impact is it having on the guy on the other end? What are they feeling? You can have that conversation obviously with your coaches, because sometimes you hit the ball with your coaches, but if I was able to hear from Novak or Fed or Nadal when I was playing against them, I hate it when you do this to me or when you're hitting this shot, that would have been a huge, huge help to know that."

wow, this is eye opening

Yes, it's been said, but it can't be repeated enough, the choice to spend the back stretch of this interview having him wax lyrical about Federer is hilarious :-D I am shocked this thread doesn't have 15 pages worth of people complaining yet. What gives? The kids still in school?

Reading between the lines: every meal with this guy it’s a bowl of sprouts and lemon water. He won’t even allow salad dressing on the table because he thinks it will interfere with his aura or something. It‘s not easy.

Why would Nolefams complain? Did you read what he said about Djokovic just in the next sentence? Djokovic can do all that Fed could as well.

“Well, that's a great question,” Murray said. “I think probably Roger, because he is able to do so much with the tennis ball, you have so many options… To be fair, Novak was really good with this as well and it's one of the reasons why it doesn't really matter who's coaching those guys, providing you’re giving them clear direction, because they're so great."

Andy knows his stuff when he got bamboozled by Djokovic in RG 2016 final. Nole can do absolutely everything.

But Andy had more slam win vs Nole than vs Roger :sneaky:

Is a translation available?

This is one of the most meaningful interviews I have read.
Yah man, Andy is astute and expresses his views candidly. I'll be candid too - I second his views on Roger. For me, ever the main dude.
Not surprised that the most successful player to date would be a challenge to coach! Yet, given that they are continuing their collaboration, Andy will have delivered / added value. Will be interesting to see how they progress.
