Murray's Myth: He will never win a slam

There, I said it.

You heard it here first.

Andy Murray will never win a slam.

His chance was this year and he blew it. His confidence will never be at a level great enough to win a slam final, and I have my doubts he will even get to a slam final.

If by first you mean years after other people predicted this when he first broke through.

I think he will win a slam eventually, but he's going to have to beat Zantac to do it. Zantac is the biggest obstacle in his way at the moment.

I actually started a thread guaranteeing Murray to never win a slam after his horrible performance in the Australian Open final last year. I didnt really believe it though, I started it mostly on purpose to hope it worked as a jinx (as most TW threads to, even the ones started by the smarter posters) to make sure he won a slam, contradicting the thread title. It hasnt worked so far though. I really hope he does win, but I think if he hasnt by the end of 2014 it will be too late. He can win slams after 2014 if he has already won atleast one IMO, but I dont think he will win his first slam at nearly 28 and beyond.

Don't give up hope.
Gomez, Ivanisevic won first slam quite old.

Similarly for Schiavione, Stosur etc.

Is the OP supposed to be sarcasm from the perspective of Murray? Because if it's not, then it makes no sense.

Much easier to say that someone who has never won a slam will never win a slam. They're extremely difficult things to win.
Who is going to win a slam outside the top4 then?
I'd be more impressed if you told me who's going to win.

I was quite certain Murray had done all he could and was destined to fade away until this year's AO. He showed he has the heart and we already knew he has the shots. He seems to have gone a bit off the boil since then but mayhaps he'll turn it on and win his maiden GS tournament in style and on home soil.

Nope, I'll tell you who won't.

And that's every player under the sun until Rafole retire.
