Reminds me of the AO 2008 final: both Tsonga and Djokovic were using a Blade paintjob, yet the racquets weren't alike at all. At least Berettini's racquet could pass off as an actual Extreme, unlike Jo and Novak whose racquets certainly weren't Blades at all. I went through Racquet Finder to find a frame similar to Musetti's: max head size of 98, beam width between 18 and 22, 16/19 string pattern. The only thing I could find was a Graphene 360+ Radical Pro. While the grommets look similar, it's not a perfect match either but considering Head gladly will do custom layups for their pros, it's not all that surprising to me.

Isn’t Musetti just using the extreme tour? This 348.1 mould we all can buy? Or I am not getting the doubt, then apologise

It didn't appear in my search filters since TW doesn't list it as a 20mm beam (22-23-21mm); to be honest, I wasn't aware there even was an Extreme that was smaller than 100in².

What are you talking about??
Musetti is using the PT348.1, identical mold as the retail Extreme Tour (TK348), different layup (not much difference)

I was wondering when you’d chime in. The article posted stated it was a 20mm straight beam, and I thought I remembered you posting somewhere that it was the Extreme Tour mold, so I was confused

The head size is 98 sq.in, the stiffness is 60 RA points (therefore low) and the inertia 317 kgcm2, not very high. The profile has a constant thickness of 20mm (rather thin) and the stringing pattern is a 16x19. Lorenzo strings with a hybrid made up of two synthetic monofilaments: Head Hawk Rough 1.25 and Head Lynx tour 1.25 at a tension of 24 kg, for both verticals and horizontals.

Thanks for clearing that up. I really enjoyed that frame. Just wish it was available in an extended version.

Nobody is talking about Sonego stringing at 18/17kg? That's crazy low!
I have Sonego`s Blades and it was strung with 22kgs polyester.

That is wrong! Why get it from a Pro Stock Shop instead of through their sponsored racquet manufacturer if both are the same?
For multiple reasons, most of them are related with personal preferences: different layup (same racquet, but different flex rate, or where the racquet flexes, different string pattern, or whatever), weight/balance/swing weight liking, changeable handle shape, or size, bla-bla...

These guys need or want stuff wee don't need, or even like. Pro stocks usually are built for personal customization, that's the way things work.

If it is a different flex, then it a different racquet!

Sorry, but no. It's very common finding same racquets with different flex rates even on retail gear, or different RA compared to what the brand says. Does that makes them different racquets? No, just bad quality control. Just watch all the complaints with Wilson, including me. One of my 6.0 95 that I play with I had to add 12 grams of lead to reach the static weight of my heavier other, and play different
Rafa plays with an original aerodrive with a slightly lower RA, and weight added to his preferences. Same racquet, same mold, just different layup for the player's convenience. But still an original aerodrive

Yes, but there’s definitely a distinction to be made between the occurrence during manufacture of accidental and presumably undesirable variations from a target configuration, versus deliberate ‘custom‘ alterations intended to satisfy individual requirements, which are presumably substantial enough to require specific customisation in the first place.
This is presumably why Wilson claim that they ‘winnow the crop’ of RF97s intended for retail to provide Federer with his hairpins, versus making something otherwise unobtainable during ‘regular’ manufacture.

317 SW maybe unstrung ? :p there were some numbers here flying around...340 SW I believe. So that would make more sense perhaps ?
