I like The Fog also, effortless ballstriking abillity, but trying to shine the light on players that have left the scene that I liked from Italy. Starace used to do quite well in Rome also from what I recall. Fog is probably the most talented one for quite a while though.

Well, the women have certainly done a lot better than the men in the slams.
It's quite a good point you make about Italians being great ball strikers by questionable mentality, I think Seppi is actually the opposite of that, not really a great ball striker, but has good mentality out there.

Seppi one year took Djokovic all the way at RG and was mentally superb and so consistent. That was a classic match remember it well. Feels like the other day wonder what year that was

Seppi also took out Federer at AO in 2015. He had good mentality, but not the real ball striking of guys like Fognini.

2019 Australian Open boys' singles champion Lorenzo Musetti, 18, absolutely enjoyed his time at this year's Australian Open as the 18-year-old had chance to hit with Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Daniil Medvedev.
Musetti says he only helped Federer to warm up but even that was something special and memorable as the Italian claims he understands those who consider the record 20-time Grand Slam champion as the greatest of all time.
But the Italian had practice sessions with world No. 1 Djokovic and 2019 US Open runner-up Medvedev and that quite an experience. Djokovic, now a 17-time Grand Slam champion, eventually made it all the way at Melbourne Park after edging out world No.
3 Dominic Thiem in the final to claim a record eighth Australian Open title. Medvedev, ranked at No. 5 in the world, enjoyed an outstanding campaign in 2019, having reached a total of nine finals. "It is difficult to judge them based on a half hour, even though I played an hour with Djokovic and Medvedev.
With Roger it was a warm-up, I didn't do any particular point or exercise, but I agree with his fans who consider him the best of all time: he is my tennis idol. But if I have to be honest, what impressed me most was Djokovic: he makes an impression on how stable, firm, balanced he is.
I made a few points with him and that's what made the most impact on me. Medvedev, on the other hand, is a very specific player and I think he is really tough in the game because he plays very deep," Musetti told Ubitennis.
But Lorenzo Musetti says Stefanos Tsitsipas is the player he models his game after
Tsitsipas, ranked at No. 6 in the world, is one of the most talented players from the new generation as he proved his worth after making it all the way at the Nitto ATP Finals last year.
"Tsitsipas is a player I refer to because his characteristics are quite similar to mine. Obviously he is much stronger and far ahead, but he has a tennis concept similar to mine on which I hope to be able to base myself during my career," Musetti said.
Lorenzo Musetti, who started the year ranked at No. 360 in the world, is now enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 284 in the world.

Tuned in to this match to see if Wawa was close to being in-form and was taken aback by this teenager’s level of play and court awareness. He was settled, calm and collected the whole way through. Lost his serve in the second but capitalized when it counted in the breaker. Hope he makes a good run

I thought he held his nerve well after falling behind in the second set. In him and Sinner Italy has maybe the two most talented up and coming players. They seem to have good attitudes (cf. 2014 Kyrgios) and no shortage of BMT.
