Musetti racket and string

Does everyone still agree that Musetti is actually using an "Extreme Tour Pro Stock" and not the "Boom" in which the paintjob would try to imply? Also, does anyone know what strings he is using?

Nevermind. I found out he is in fact using an Extreme Tour Pro Stock "PT348" and a Head Hawk Touch/Tour hybrid. Should've done my research before posting. Seems really stupid to me that these Pro's would allow the manufacturer to slap these bogus paintjobs on their rackets. I know they're probably getting compensated for it. But who cares? These guys don't need the money.

Welcome to 1982. Now move on...

I've known about the paintjob nonsense for many... many years. I'm just ranting about it. But thanks for the smart ass comment. Much appreciated.
A few things from your comments made me be believe that you do not understand the basics and longevity of this practice:
1) Musetti racket was discussed in detail many times, you started another thread. Good thing is that you realized the search option may save you some time
2) the PJ practice is common across all racket companies and generally across many consumer products when you sponsor pros. The basic common knowledge is that racket manufacturers are in business of making money (profits) and sponsored pros are using tools (rackets) that fit them the best.
3) saying that the pro players do not need the sponsorship $$ is a ridiculous statement. Or to assume that any of them should do it for “free” is also a ridiculous thing…

I found head paint jobs confusing for the longest time as many players actual frame was far from what they were painted as and often much closer to another current line. What seems to make sense to me is that Head allows players to use the paint they prefer.

Novak wants a better contract, here is a new line that is yours. Murray likes the history of the radical, here is your paint. Berydch likes blue, here you go. Gasquet likes nose candy, here is something neon. Coco likes teal, here’s a boom.

It is more like Novak needs to sponsor the speed line - there, our best selling line
Zverev and Rublev Gravity - there, second best selling…
Coco is a great face for Boom (since we have ND on Speed) so…

Our confusion with the PJs is totally irrelevant for the bigger picture. 99.9xx of buyers have no idea that their favorite player uses the PJ and this includes some people that have been in tennis industry for a looooong time.

I do agree that ahead is too easy/comforting with their sponsored players wishes!

I wasn't paying attention to tennis at the time Novak left Wilson to Return to Head and the Speed was introduced. I assumed the line was launched with his return to the brand, did it happen differently?

Curious if the line was popular before he was the face of it or it became best selling due to his status.

I think it’s really fun that they paint totally different lines on pro frames - would love to have a speed boom or extreme boom pro!

That spearmint just looks wrong, like a kids toy. Great player though Musetti, surely deserves a more sophisticated paintjob
