I like a lot of ethnic music from around the world.

The first time I heard this online radio from Turkey it gave me a sense of peacefulness and uplifted my spirit. I don't know the meaning of all the songs they sing but I really like the tunes and the rhythm. It touches my heart and soul and takes me to a new world.

My other experience was when I heard ethnic music from the Andes for the first time...I really love that music with the traditional wind instrument.

For me Thievery Corporation had the same effect. They've been producing cool music for a long time and the band has members that are from all over the world with the music reflecting that ... quite rightly labelled World music amongst other things. I've followed these guys for a long time and can't recommend their music highly enough. Hard to describe as it has so many influences but definitively contains elements of dub, trip hop, reggae, classical Indian, Brazilian and some Middle Eastern flavours. try 'The richest Man in Babylon' first and you'll not regret the time.
