Musters painted head sticks to kneissl?

ive read on one than more occasion that Thomas muster had his head rackets painted to look like his sponsored kneissl? Does anybody know if that really is true ? And if so does anybody have any pics of that painted racket ? I've looked everywhere to confirm the legend of his PJ head to kneissl but I've never seen it. All the frames I've seen him play with are actually the racket that he was signed up to play / sponsor . I did however think that he did see a reverse stencil of the kneissl star. Which supposedly he did or his stringer ...Not very well done mind you

. He painted his ISO speed string black from its Cream color and left out the outline of the kneissl star .. that must have been a pain in the ass to do .. I read that he did that on tt boards which I assume is true , as far as I know ISO speed never made professional or control classic strings in black color way .. or......did ... they ?????! Hmmmmmmm

I'm looking for the white paint job .. maybe I'm having such a hard time is due to the fact that he never had his head 630 painted to look like a white toms machine ..hell maybe I twisted the info all up

I'm counting 21 cross strings which is kneissl all the way . No pt 630 I am aware of ??? had 21 cross strings . Unless muster had a special version of the 630?

If I recall correctly the paint job was limited to the first generation Toms Machine. The white reach models were actual Kneissl frames which he played well with on hard courts but claimed to struggle with them on clay.

If anybody knows I would imagine it is you my friend ....
I have to assume that you have played with his white kneissl ? If so did you yourself enjoy it? Can you tell me more about your personal experiences. I know so very little about this frame . I don't think I've ever seen anyone even hit with it. Where I am and was when this frame came out it was like an alien out of this universe frame filled with a land of Wilson's prince and head rackets so I would love a review if you have the time to share thank you so much

As far as muster is concerned I love him too. Loved his ground strikes so much . I've been fortunate enough to have played with the pt 280 for a few years and loved it. But now that I realize from the internet the white toms is a 102 sq inch and may be even more forgiving , dare I say more flexible than the 280 I'm all ears .. I've played with ( and really liked ) the satellite tour head racket. To be honest I like it better than the 280. Was never crazy about the paint job though . And on paper the satellite tour and the toms white are extremely close in almost every way . Which to me sounds like great news as a potential new ( vintage ) racket to have some fun with...

Oh .. and the head satellite was the xl version cut down to 27. If I am ever lucky enough to find a white toms machine I would cut it down to 27, as I have a tough time hitting with the long body's ...:

I did own three Toms Reach Machines and played them for about a year or so at their stock length of 28". They felt great and had excellent directional control but they were difficult to get around on faster shots that relied more reaction than practiced technique. They were a once piece racquet and you really had a sense of being connected to the racquet. The string pattern was very dense so it needed a thin string (at the time I was using Gamma TNT 17). After about a year or so and moving away from clay courts to hard and I needed a faster racquet so I chopped an inch off all three and added weight so they were 12.2 oz with a headlight balance and then they were a much better frame IMHO. Played very similar to my Pro Tour 280 racquets. Unfortunately grommets were difficult to score at that time so I gave them to my brother and went with the Fischer Pro No. 1 which is another fantastic frame.

I've never played the Satellite Tour but for me the best frames ever made are (starting with the best) the Head Pro Tour 280, the twin tube Radicals, Kneissl Toms Machine series and Fischer Pro No. 1.

I've been a huge fan of Muster since the early nineties and always appreciated his warrior attitude though I can understand how it rubbed others the wrong way. I felt like he squeezed out a helluva career with less talent than a lot of his peers. I wish he could have improved his passing shots and his overall game against attacking players. I always felt Ronnie Leitgeb should have addressed those issues when it became apparent he could be easily beaten by an attacking player. Muster should have a couple more French Opens.

wouldn;'t be surprised. He played with a prestige when thiem ousted him in his attempted comeback at like age 700

No! Michael what is that ? I'm intrigued . Ps . Thank you again I ❤️ Thomas muster that's a lot of pertinent info that I can use to make my decision easier wether to mess with really trying to find one of these white toms. I do love the pt 280 but if you feel like it's just as firm and not really much more soft or super similar to the 280 (which I so do love ) I'll keep looking as I need something softer .
Speaking of old 90's players frames I'm alwYs on the lookout for kordas thin beamed red volkl. Someone on here has a 2 of them with yellow tops. But even the owner doesn't know the name as it's no where printed on the rackets . Just a beautiful v throated candy apple red piece of pure art. But I am getting off topic here.. oops a d d , strikes again.

Talking of the red volkl, where I am, there's an ex slovak Davis cup player, branislav stankovic. He uses these red volkl frames. Still. Aged 55 and he still plays awesomely, as you might expect for a former world number 80 or something. The frames just say volkl on them nothing else.

I thought I had purchased on line Kordas stick some years ago .. it had the candy apple red pj had the v throat too. But it was a wide body couldn't tell from the pics the guy had up for Sale on line.. I was crushed . Wanted the thin beamed one .

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but just got a white Tom’s Reach Machine and was wondering where would I be able to get some grommets for it. Thanks for any info anyone can give me.
