The local sport shop in my area had a massive sale last Sunday. I went there and was shocked to see the only one K Six One Tour racquet left and for sale, AUD 100 (USD 81.2).... And it is in perfect condition, complete with the wilson leather grip.

I have always wanted one, but it's a bit dear for me...

Wow, I am so so so happy. Tried it many times (I play everyday), and I just can't believe how great the racquet is.... It is a serving machine.. my serves just got more pace and power and precision as well. My backhand also has more power and half volley is so much easier with this racquet. Topspin lob is delicious and slices are amazing. Amazing touch, amazing control. VERY stable. I absolutely love it. I won't want any other racquet except K Six One Tour. The feeling of the swing is just very very very nice.

You from Australia? Where did you get it?

Yes, at Sporty's Sport Warehouse, Bundall, Gold Coast.

:) No it's not a fake, the shop has got a Pro Shop and I know the guy who sold it.. and won't lie to me. The racquet has got Wilson Quality sticker on it too....

A complete different story from my own. My serve was slower, backhand was weaker, not easy to use. Compared to my previous racquet (Prince SP Tour), K90 is tougher to use. It does make the slice much easier to pull off though...

The key is timing. If you get the timing right, you will get the power. You hit the ball too late, you'll lose power. Try not to muscle the ball and just relax your motion and utilize the racquet mass to hit the ball.

I have been using Avery M3 Power since I start playing tennis for the first time, so I guess I am used to heavy racquet and my muscle memory is easy to adjust to K 6 1 tour.

Lucky you. In Sydney here there arent that many big tennis warehouse like shops that have sales on these types of racquets.

$100? My god... I would trade my family to get one at that price. I wish I lived up in Queensland sometimes.

Nice racket, and clearly genuine, just from the fact most of the loop of the letter L in Wilson on the hoop rolls over the edge.

However........

It looks like a pre update version - the string pattern gets tighter near the PWS. Hard to tell from the photo, but it looks that way.

Federer has always has had his drilled with an even string hole spacing, and the newest rackets have that too. I found it made a very big difference to the way it plays, and it opens up the sweetspot.

To be honest I always hit pretty high on the hoop, so maybe others will prefer the old version, but I found it much improved, and I could string it a few lbs higher.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! You are so lucky!!!!! I'm so jealous of you!!!! I wish I had gotten my K95 for $81, but no, I paid $200!!!!

Congrats on that great find!

I think my K 6.1 90 's pws has got even string hole spacing. I just took a photo of the 'façade' of my racquet. It seems the string pattern does not get tighter near the pws. I do feel hit sweet spot so often, to my surprise.

well.. might be a fake...

the wilson mark on the butt of handle looks totally different.
goto a different shop and compare it with a us$200 one and see if it weight diff etc.
if that shop is not out of business, there must be a reason for them to sale this model....

huh? its obviously authentic

its authentic it is just the slightly older one. Its really a great stick, I just started playing with one and even though the total strung weight is over 12oz it seems light to me because it is so manuverable. Really a pleasure to play with and at that price what I would call a crackhead deal..

I broke the string

I really love my new racquet. I still can't believe I am playing so well with it.... Now I wish I have another one!!!! hahahah

I broke the string last Sunday.... and now it's in the stringer and I look forward to picking it up tomorrow.

Oh that was a well educated...guess...

It didn't offend me, but there is nothing in the picture that indicates that it might be a paint job of anything. It just seems like a useless post, much like the one I'm posting now. And on that note, I'm done.

That's a great find...an even better deal than the one I picked up used from my local shop for $120 (in hardly used condition with natural gut).

I'm interested in an Asian spec K Six-One Tour 90. Are there tell-tale ways to tell if an Asian spec K90 is fake?

Some Asian K90s I've seen are blatantly fake, from the positioning of the Wilson on the flat part of the bottom of the head, to the paint quality where the frame indents into the grommet area (almost looks like they just taped similarly-colored stickers there), to the lack of leather grip on the handle.

Also, it might say that the weight is actualy 12.0 oz instead of the Asian spec weight (I forget, is it 11.3 or so?) Perhaps the balance point will be off as well.

I know of some that crack prematurely at the bottom of the head between grommets. It's really weird but the two that I've seen are cracked in the same spot, althought they've survived several restringings now.

That's the extent of what I know about it, but someone said on this forum that K90s aren't being made with the lighter spec anymore.

Anyway, 15_ounce, congratulations on your $81 K90! What a great find!

Just seen the new photo, and it is clearly the new version with even string pattern - nice!
