I was courtside watching Tsitsi vs Ymer. Also saw Tsitsi practice really up close in a showcourt wich is close to the centre court with a swedish guy I don't know the name of, but this guy had Joachim Pim Pim Johansson there with him practicing with Tsitsipas. Apostolos was there too. He is somewhat harsh on Tsitsipas at times. At one point he was facepalming lol. Was quite surreal seeing them so close. Tsitsipas as I suspected was pretty extraordinary watching him in practice and in the match, IMO he really stood out with his game. Amazing player. He is slowly becoming a favourite of mine, if not already. At the end of the practice his dad told a security guard who stood right next to me that only the kids will be able meet up with him, so they put us adults on one side at the end of the practice and kids near where Tsitsi would make his exit. Not that I think it's that important to get a picture with him, I totally understand that the guy is tired and probably can't satisfy everyone cause he'd be there all day. All good IMO. I think the kids are more important, and he totally made their day and happily signed and took pictures with them.
I also saw Tiafoe practice for a little bit, aswell as Holger Rune who had Mouratoglu with him aswell as his mother. I was suprised how calm Holger was though both in practice and in the match. Usually he has his outbursts, but he was calm and focused. Great athlete and ball striker. There is a good balance in his game. He will be top 10 in a year bet on it. Along with Tsitsipas he impressed me the most.
I wasn't too impressed with Norrie though, he is pretty meh but still a solid player. I saw a racket smash from him vs Rune. He always came across as pretty calm to me, but today he was shouting and in the end smashed his racket.
Tiafoe was the only guy btw who after practice came up and signed autographs, took some pictures and chatted with people. I think he just has that kind of a personality who can take the time to socialize, he isn't afraid to be social with strangers. To each their own really. Strikes me as very down to earth.
I wasn't able to catch Shapo and Di minaur practicing, but I saw their match as well courtside. Shapovalov pretty erratic player as I have noticed watching him on tv throughout the years. He is a great striker of the ball but it's too much hit and miss. His movement isn't elite either wich can be an explanation to why he misses so much. Shapo disappointed me to be honest. I still think there is a chance he can achieve something great, he is still pretty young, but not with his current game. Something has to change.
Di Minaur on the other hand the exact opposite, he is solid as a brick but can beat the heck out of the ball when he wants too. A speed demon aswell. All round a really good player and very professional as well as humble. Taller in person than what it appears on tv. He was in complete control of the match from start to finish, he had Shapo wrapped around his finger. Doesn't surprise me he has won 6 titles.
