Great collection! I played with the first four. That was all my shoulder could take. So I switched to the Prestige Pro. But I really like your collection.

Thanks!!! I recently considered selling them all on the classified forum and just buying more rf97s. Maybe I eventually will!

Reminds me of a coach I had who is a great fan of Federer. He had each of these racquets, and even had some in a matched pair. The ones he had in double could be lent or given away to some of his students. I don't know if he purchased the 2014 or RF97A however. He was stringing them with RPM Blast 16 at 26 kgs...

Anyway, nice collection!

Nice collection. You just need to add a PS 6.0 85 Original China version to it.

BTW, Federer never actually used the 2014 PS 90 paintjob so not sure it should belong in a "Fed Collection".

Just wanted to share my collection here that was posted previously.

My picture inaccurately includes the 2014 PS90 and excludes the blacked out test frames of 2013 and 2014. I also need to update with a new RF97. All of the frames as you can see are unused with plastic on the grip. All racquets are 3/8. You don't have to say it - my family, friends and I already know that I am crazy! I have at least one of each that actually were played with. I have used the n90 and all subsequent models since the n90 release.

Here is an article that shows a timeline of Federer using all of the iterations in his pro career http://www.perfect-tennis.co.uk/the-many-racquets-of-roger-federer/. This article was previously posted in another thread. I apologize for not remembering who to give the credit to of the original posting.

Did Fed ever play with these racquets or only the paint jobs?

Multiple theories out there. According to the theories and some known fact, some of his frames have been paint jobs (example HPS 6.0 95 European version paint job) and some have been VERY close to the retail version (example: K90, PS97)

Having a black-out frame is easy. Strip the paint off a RF97, and paint it in black. Voila! You have a Fed black-out frame.

I picked up tennis late... only got these two Fed sticks.

I also have the 2014 PS90 but yeh he didn't use that paintjob.

I have thought about doing that. Maybe when the RF97 goes on sale in the future sometime I'll do that! I need to practice on other frames before hand.

Wow, Geoff! Amazing collection! You even have both the HPS 6.0/6.1 95 paintjob versions, one with the silver square and W and one with the yellow square and W at 2 and 10 on the hoop. :)

But why two of the 2012 BLX PS 90?

Hi BP

If you look closely they are different. Federer's 2012 version had Six One 90 on the shaft and the 2013 version had Ninety on the shaft. Trying to be as accurate as possible or possibly my OCD has gotten further out of control.

Ahh.....I forgot about that! Yes, there were two different versions, one with "90" and one with "ninety". I guess he played with both versions? I don't know. I believe the "90" came before the "ninety".

OK, here's proof:

2013:

Federer has not used the same graphics for 2 consecutive years since the first BLX in 2010-2011.

Oh yes, the elusive "Silver Moose". :) Care to share that story Geoff? Best, BHBH

Let's just say it involved a top secret international trade agreement and covert transportation by an expert dog handler. :) Fair enough? Best, BHBH

To elaborate

I located the HPS 6.1 95 with Silver W from a seller in Canada on a Canadian Craig's List. He would not ship no matter what. This was around the time of a big dog show in the Philadelphia area that my wife would be attending. For background my wife and I are former professional dog handlers. Because of that we know people from all over the world that travel to the biggest dog shows. I contacted a friend in Canada that lived in the area of the seller that I knew would be coming to the Philadelphia dog show. I gave her explicit instructions on how to protect it and not to remove the hang tag, plastic, etc. I set up a rendezvous spot for the initial pick up north of the border. The seller was VERY late in showing up which made me think this was some sort of scam. Luckily my friend was patient and waited for the seller's arrival. The seller was almost 2 hours late. My friend called when she was driving to Philadelphia and could not understand why I would want a racquet with no strings. My wife picked up the racquet from our friend that next morning in Philadelphia at the dog show. I sent my wife with a poly bag and cover to protect the racquet. So as she is being driven by her brother to the airport on Sunday to come home she lets me know that she has the racquet to carry on the plane. Somehow she leaves the racquet in my brother in law's car unbeknownst to me. I pick her up at the airport excited to see the Silver Moose and oh yeah my wife too. She calls me as she gets off the plane telling me that she forgot the racquet but not to worry that her brother has it. Amazingly I did not lose my mind but got a few free passes for a while. So I had to talk my brother in law through the importance of this racquet and how to ship it. Luckily he did not mind and did a great job in taking the necessary precautions. So there you have it, the story of the Silver Moose (deemed by BHBH).

Wow! I don't think even Jim Phelps and the IMF squad (of Mission Impossible fame) could have pulled this off! :)

BTW, I assume this is a HPS 6.1 95 (oval beam) with the silver square and not a HPS 6.0 95 Tour (box beam) with the silver square? Because I believe the latter only existed with non-retail paintjobs, like the one Federer used?

The MI Team would have been proud. :) BHBH

You are exactly right BP!

Yes, just be sure to have this playing in the background while reading Geoff's account of his racquet acquisition:
