My ground strokes

I spent some time commenting on this forum and never posted any video of my own strokes. I did not film myself when having a hit with a friend, unfortunately. I wish I had filmed yesterday, though. I tried hitting with a western grip and it was horrible, but my backhand slice was worth taping yesterday... for both reasons, it would have been fun to tape. Regardless, today, I couldn't get someone to hit and I found out it was rather risky for my cellphone, so until I figure out a way to fix this, I'll leave it there.

It's hard to see if I missed or nailed my strokes when they're deep. I'm sorry for that. If it bothers you or if it's important, I think I missed only the two very loopy strokes (one forehand and one backhand, both from the back perspective). In the first video (forehands, back perspective), I pick up a ball behind me to hit a fourth shot. We don't see where the ball lands clearly because I was leaving the court to stop the camera on my cell phone and I got in the way of the camera. It landed about 3 or 4 feet from the baseline, to give you an idea.

Without a handy practice partner, self feeds are close to the next best thing for your strokes.
You practice contact point, swingpath, and directional control. You have time to bend your knees, get sideways, and stroke thru the ball.
Always good to have specific target, like your first few forehand CC's. Work on hitting close to the sidelines, away from the center of the court.
Nice loopy, heavy topspin groundies.

Thanks LeeD.

I use self-feeds a lot since I do not hit as often as I would like with a partner. Sometimes, I bring old cans of balls and use them as targets, but I left them home since I did hit with people frequently this month. My strokes get really sharp when I practice hitting with these cans... I should bring them every time, now that you mention picking a clear target.

Nice camera perspective and nice strokes, in my humble opinion. (I gave your vids the thumbs up and subscribe to the channel.)

It would be great to see some vids of you hitting with others, especially match play.

I'll try to do so in the future. Thanks for the comment, though.
