My left heel has been bothering me for the past two weeks now. It hurts bad after I play tennis, but it is fine the next day. This heel pain happens everytime after I play a match. I changed shoes, even purchased a new pair of tennis shoes, but the pain presists.

Any ideas?

plantar fasciitis, probably.

read other threads with "heel"

buy Spenco full-length heel supports/orthotics ($30)

if that doesn't help, go to a doctor, you might need full rigid orthotics ($300)

check Heel section in my signature

My heels were killing me on the courts, and a friend said it was probably tendonitis, which I interpreted as "tennisitis". Wouldn't that be cool though if it were tennisitis?

Hhahah tennisitis. I think I have that planter something. AFter reading Marius's links, the pain is exactly where it is located. I must lay off tennis for awhile. Hopefully, it will heal within two weeks :-|

stick your heels on a bucket of water filled with ice (toes out pleeze) for 5 to 7 minutes....that will help....

there are stretching exercises under Heel in my signature which may help a lot to relieve pain and increase flexibility in the fascia

Keep a tennis ball can (plastic) filled with water and frozen in the freezer. After you play, gently roll the can under your foot from heel to the ball of your foot to ice and gently stretch the plantar band. Keep a golf ball near your bed and before you walk in the morning take some time to roll the ball like the can above applying greater pressure to stretch the band before you walk. Do those stretching exercises and get inserts mentioned by Marius. I had plantar fascitis in both feet for almost 2 years before getting rid of the condition. Its a slow process, but one day you realize your feet don't hurt after playing anymore!

If the pain is in the sole, this is the right procedure. If the pain is at the back of the heel, the ice application must be made esp there.

Thanks Marius, I tried those stretches and it certainly helped alot. I guess my body is wearing down now.........omg......I could see it now, I'll be playing with a granny stick soon :)
