My hitting partner's strokes - feedback welcome

Hi

Nice... good a looking forehand stroke as any I've seen around here. Backhand could be better. He falls back to finish.

Thanks for the quick replies, I think his forehand is a strong weapon but we both tend to lean back and put all our body weight through the backhand. p.s how do you try and counter the leaning back?

Good ground strokes on both wings I'd say. I think you could follow through a little lower on your shoulder and you take a little bit of a stutter step on your serve and that could be limiting power from your legs. Just some things to think about.

I like GB fh more but both fh's are college level. I was disappointed to see the backhands. Both grips seem to be very mild between a continental to mild Eastern. You are opening your shoulders too soon perhaps due to your grips. If both of you migrate over to the full eastern grip, I have no doubt you can perfect those backhands sooner.

You would probably gain more control on your backhand if you didn't rotate your shoulders as much. Try to keep your shoulders parallel to the baseline by leaving your non-dominant arm back.

Yeah, that happens to me too - but in my experience everything starts looking great again after the third glass...

ha skyzoo you are right the courts are not made for tennis, that is why we had to do feeding drills because the courts are so quick. So the general consensus is that he needs to not open up his shoulders so early and maybe look into having a more extreme grip?
