My Insomnia has reached a new level !!!! HELP !

Yup, I do change my sheets but not daily. It may shock you but I no longer get into bed like I used to. What I mean is that I do not take off the bedcover, I now sleep over the bedcover. So the bedsheets never get touched.
I find that getting into bed just kills my sleep. I lie over the bed, and toss a sheet over myself.

Also, i sleep in shorts and a t-shirt. I can't imagine sleeping without clothes like they do in Hollywood movies.
Never make your bed, when you wake in the morning everything is perfect from the night before (why you dont wanna get out). When i hope in later, im back to paradise, no adjustments :)

Shirt isnt needed, make the sheet feel even better when you pull it up.

I have found the reason for @Sentinel's insomnia. As usual, the answers were in evolution. We can conclude the following:

Sentinel has a small brain so he requires less sleep.

Sentinel is afraid of predators - this probably means burglers today.

Sentinel eats food of lower calorific density.

Solutions:

First issue has no solution.

Install alarms and surveillance systems.

Eat more calories, like Chicken Butter Masala and Gulab Jamuns.

https://www.alaskasleep.com/blog/non-human-animals-and-sleep-is-there-a-connection

While sleep patterns vary widely among animal classes and species, there are a few general rules of thumb. Sleep serves important evolutionary functions for all animals, but sleep patterns and positioning are based in large part on available food supply and defense mechanisms.

Sleep helps animals consolidate memories and learn, which is why animals with larger brains require more REM sleep.

Sleep patterns in animals have evolved over time – animals that sleep and get attacked by predators are less likely to pass on their genes, so animals have developed ways to protect themselves during sleep. For instance, otters sleep holding hands, or will wrap themselves in seaweed to protect their young and stay afloat while asleep. Likewise, cowsand sheep sleep in a herd – there is safety in numbers.

Evolutionary biologists speculate that predation and fear of predators has influenced the development of sleep patterns across species. Carnivores tend to sleep more than herbivores. Cathemeral species like lions sleep in short spells during both the day and night so as to enable them to seize food when it becomes available.

In general, animals sleep according to how much they eat – animals that eat food with a lower caloric density sleep less than others. This may explain why herbivores need to spend more time awake, to ensure they get enough food and energy. For example, grazing animals like giraffes and elephants sleep 30 minutes to just a few hours per day, respectively. However, there are exceptions to this rule, like the koala. Their eucalyptus-based diet doesn’t give them much energy, so they sleep for almost 15 hours per day, and split the rest of their time eating and resting.
1 of the aging outlookers in the group..............during our mil yrs evolution the aging/sicker/weaker 1s took care of the fire in the cave n looked out predators while the younger/stronger 1s were sleeping well for the hunting/fighting next day..................

Don't worry no Hollywood or Bollywood producer want to show you sleeping without clothes.

I meant filming him.

But who knows that might happen in some art film where they want to show reality as it is, and pick sentinel to represent the average man.

also almost all kinds serious illness affect sleeping as well n like locked inside vicious cycle until very end ie less sleeping making things even worse:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:...................though as part of the tribe, still help out as they could in the process of human evolution, so others could sleep well n bring food back to cave next day:p:p:p:p:p...................

When you have a good conscience because you are always helping people improve their tennis with valuable tips, sleep will automatically come.

Let me have men about me that are fat,
Sleek-headed men and such as sleep o'nights.
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look,
He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.

That also happens in old age past a certain point.

Actually, I already sleep like a log and snore, according to my wife.
My father was very old and he slept like a log, snoring and all.
sign of peaceful/joyful passing away, soft landing:love::love::love::love::love::love:.............much much better than those full of pipes/needles in hospital w/ pain+agony n burden of loved 1s n society:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:.............................

I have no idea who these comic characters are.
I grew up reading Tintin comics (among others like Asterix).

I must be going through some nostalgic phase, which suresh will say has to do with old age (I am one year younger than the young suresh but lets not let facts get in the way of his make-believe world :D )
I look back at childhood as something irretrievable lost, especially since my folks were alive and young then. Don't know if i am making sense :(

On a good note, I slept again last night. So that's two nights in a row.

For some strange reason, I did not need to take a leak at night, maybe that contributed to my sleep not getting broken. Sorry for these details - more for suresh actually ;)

Nothing really. I hope it wasn't a fluke. We'll know tonight.
Instead of getting to bed at 11 or 10:45, I did some reading till 1130 and then hit the sack. But that was only possible since I had slept the previous night. Maybe going to bed later did the trick.

I intensely read comic books for a few months when I was 7-8.
Trying to remember which ones...
"Mandrake" was one.

Did you have clear intense dreams? I think that indicates you reached Stage 4 REM.

Strangely, I start having dreams as I doze off. Even before I actually fall asleep, as I am drifting off. That is how I know whether I slept or drifted off or was just lying awake.
So i don't think I have to go into deep sleep to dream.

If I sleep or nap in the afternoon, which i almost never do, i go into a deep, drugged sleep. I suppose that is what deep sleep is. But this never happens at night. Never.

I wanted to stay awake and watch The French but fell asleep at midnight and awoke at 8 a.m..
Missed the entire match.
Google says Fed lost in three sets. But that must be an error?!

A young lady smiled at me. And then she said, "How are you Papa!".

Why is she calling me Papa? I feel so old now.
:(

Here another potential method of getting rid of your insomnia, get yourself a wide head rubber mallet and sit on the edge of your bed and hit yourself genteelly on the top of the head! You see stars, dizziness, things spinning around and go dark! Get tutor by a professional head knocker before doing this, however!

Second night in a row, no sleep :(

I did get three hours though, till 3 am so i guess I should be grateful.

WHich means two groggy days in a row. Could not follow either semifinals, since i could barely keep eyes from crossing. Yet, unable to get through the night. Will be tough watching the men's final today :(
