Second night in a row, no sleep :(

I did get three hours though, till 3 am so i guess I should be grateful.

WHich means two groggy days in a row. Could not follow either semifinals, since i could barely keep eyes from crossing. Yet, unable to get through the night. Will be tough watching the men's final today :(

Have an electronic gadgets free day. Switch all electronic gadgets off. Spend one day with just house chores, cleaning, gardening, walking, chatting to people in cafe, walk the dog, eat, and sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

Feeling good, slept last night. Difference was that I was reading till about 1230 or so. Went to bed by 1am and got up around 630.

I once read came upon this and just dug it up. Anyone heard of this and if it helps.

Interesting! and congrats for your good sleep!
Don't know if I need to try it because I am always sleepy by bedtime and have no trouble falling asleep. Usually doing monotonous computer work before bed time makes me really sleepy.

Reading before bed is really good. I don't know if it's good for sleep but I do it and I sleep just fine. It's just good in general. I do try to avoid reading on my phone or tablet though, since I got my Nook Simple Touch a few months ago I've been using it a lot. It doesn't have built in light, I just use a bedside lamp with low wattage and on the yellow spectrum. Can't stand bright or white lights!

Herge finds your avatar annoying. Please change it.
It caught me by surprise that you waited for so long to change your avatar for this one.
I really thought you were @Sentinel.
Maybe avatars changes in users that do not change them too often should be communicated with due anticipation.

Lucky, 11C tonite!
The real lucky part is the Chocolate Cake you are eating.

One can adapt to extremes of temperature, but there's no life without chocolate cake.

My ancestors are supposed to have migrated from Central Asia, where presumably the summer temps were 50C. So i am genetically predisposed to thriving in high temperatures, and to cake.

Lucky enough to get another quarter of that cake last night. Btw, have a donut shop open two blocks away.

I'm very concerned about Sentinel's well being. I'm listening to a documentary from Al Jazeera news radio about New Delhi air pollution. It says that breathing the air in New Delhi one day is equivalent to smoking 44 cigarettes :(:(:(

I don't know what to do about this if I were Sentinel. Maybe move to a place with less air pollution?

Air pollution can really affect your sleep and your overall health.

....The New Delhi doctor just said that he operated a New Delhi teenager and his lung is full of black deposits ....:(:(:( Many people with lung cancer there because of the air pollution :(:(:(:( They are talking about Priyanka, a 26 year old girl and she is diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. The doctor said it was caused by air pollution. Every week 1 person is diagnosed with illness caused by air pollution.

It says that New Delhi is located in such unfortunate geographical location, that there is often moisture in the air that traps the pollution. There is so little dispersion in the air to push the pollution away and there is not 1 day with good air quality because of this.

If I have the money I would like to fly Sentinel here and enjoy the fresher air, the sea breeze and the nice long footpath for running along the beach. He could participate in the annual Gold Coast marathon along the beach and be the winner :giggle:

There really are no places in India that are much better. And if you go really far from the pollution, the places will be undeveloped, and they may even be unsafe.

There is also the issue of hospitals. My folks were old (mother is still alive) and they need hospitals close by. We have often thought of moving (several years back) but then people come to Delhi hospitals from outside, and at their age I can't do that to them. Our family doctors are also all here.

The only option is to take breaks now and then to the hills, but my mother is now bedridden with a stent in her femur, so that is not possible.

I would love to visit Australia. Maybe one day I will come over there, and visit you too. I love the ocean and the greenery and quiet places. (I had a relative who moved to (near) Melbourne but found it too quiet. She died a couple years back).

@Sentinel is known in the Asterix comics as Maximus Uranus Blackholus
I already posted the Uranix name before.

He is also known as Tennix NotPlayix.

And sometimes as Sendhix.
Please, please try to upgrade your sense of humor.

You are a disgrace to the Indian community with your dirty, scatalogical jokes.

You have single-handedly made this site tamasic.

I have been thinking of that but don't know how to find a competent hynotherapist.

I did read that the hypnosis we see in movies (e.g Get Out) is not how it happens in real life. You can't really control people like that.
Yes, when I was a child, I remember ruining an hypnotizer performance when he couldn’t put me to sleep in front of many people.
I felt terrible.

Delhi is among the world's most polluted cities.
:(

The most polluted air on the planet

According to the World Health Organization, the air in these 30 cities was found to be the most polluted in 2016. The air in these cities contains high levels of dangerous particulate matter, small enough to enter the human bloodstream through the lungs—a problem that contributes to an estimated 7 million premature deaths each year.
We’ve ranked the cities here, from least to most polluted.

11. Delhi, India

The Indian capital was once the most polluted city in the world. The city still struggles with pollution from the burning of nearby rice paddies, burning municipal waste, and vehicle exhaust emissions.

Delhi was once ranked #1 amongst the world's most polluted cities. It has dropped to #11. But conditions remain awful.
