Seriously, have you discovered duct tape to add life to these shoes?

Don't forget the old reliable Shoe Goo.
It can add months to your outsole. It can also repair uppers.

And the Kirklands look sweet at the Senior Centre! Pity they have laces instead of strapsWhen I was in my 20s playing tournaments, I was a big toe dragger. I used Shoe Goo then.
Actually, I'm fine with 2 months ... actually see an upside. Most of the time, when I replace shoes because tread wore down, the rest of the shoe still looks new. But as soon as I put the new identical shoe on, I realized how much the shoes had broken down. The Kirkland still felt great to me at 2 months, so I was very surprised the brand new pair felt noticeably better (more support). This 2 months of 30 hours of singles is more wear than I would typically have in 2 months, so for sure a 3+ month shoe for me. I have been taking 3 months of winter off, so 9 months of tennis. Bottom line, I don't need a 6 month+ shoe, and I like fresh shoes after a couple of summer months. I think the other upside is better support than I get from wearing a shoe longer ... a good idea for 59 year old hips/legs/knees/calves/feet.
I was well aware that shoes could look good, but be broken down internally. Found out the same thing is true with the Sof Sole Airr Orthodic insoles I use. I usually replace them once a year because the fabric top layer tears away exposing the gel heel pad. I figure that was just cosmetic and a comfort issue. Not so ... when I just replaced the insoles (before new Kirklands) ... there was noticeably more cushion. I guess the gel must break down.
Got my racquet, string and shoes. No more excuses.![]()

More like a TKO! Leave your opponents doubled overOh... Velcro straps ... that would be like a free game each set.
Ok, after two months. I guess it's time to pick up another pair of Costco tennis shoes. The inside sole from my toe to the ball of my feet are worn down to the foam. And most of the little sipe tread is worn away and smooth. But heck, $19. No biggie. Just need to ensure a continued supply. My neon yellow/green ASICS GR6 are just collecting dust in the garage. But I think my son will be able to wear them shortly so I guess those will disappear soon too.
YupWhat did you wear out? The tread?
I click on your post link and it sends me to some weird diagonal string pattern discussion. Woah...You must actually run, and do some of that split step thing. If you don't do that, tread looks good after 2 months.

Alright. Here you go. But be gentle...You must actually run, and do some of that split step thing. If you don't do that, tread looks good after 2 months.![]()
Plenty of good tennis shoes for 6 months warranty. It comes to 30/40 max per pair. I am not sure Costco shoes will last 30 days for heavy users. It cost 100+ in 6 months unless they are super durable (doubt)
Isn't the 6 month guarantee 6 months from the date of purchase?i used to be about the cheapest shoe possible since i only expected them to feel good and last for a very short period of time.. but then i came around to buying the best shoe that fit my foot with a warranty. i found that if you shop around you can get a lunar ballistec or a cage 2 for less than $70 pretty frequently... wear them hard for 3-4 months and send them back for the durability guarantee.. so in effect you can get 2-3 pairs for $60. kirkland can't touch that. i have 16 pairs in the closet now..and glad i stockpiled since the cage 3 is not a good fit for my foot and i have 5 years of free shoes which i can finally start wearing..once i wear through this last pair of lunar b's i just picked up for $40
you are correct..6 months it is. i have been claiming shoes ever since the original cage came out. and every time i sent in a pair for the voucher i would find another pair at the outlet for $40 or $50.. many times i would have a $130 or a $165 voucher and buy 2 pairs of cage 2's for $70 each. end result is a closet full of shoes. you can't reclaim a pair of shoes you bought with a voucher..and 90% of my stockpile are now 2 years to 5 years old
