What about medical care?
Italy ranks hgih for health care. The Servizio Sanitario Nazionale does have considerations for ex-pats and retirees.
So you are Ok with not having access to US Medicare at all? The Italian system takes care of everything till you die even if you are not a citizen? On what kind of visa will you be there?
What about taxes and healthcare in Italy?
One aspect of Italian life that will help you keep costs low? You don’t have to pay for health insurance. Like many Western nations, Italy has a national health service, and the World Health Organization ranks it in the top 10 for quality care. If you're coming from a country without nationalized healthcare, like the US, you won’t need to budget for hospital stays and medical treatments. Prescription drugs must, naturally, be prescribed by a doctor and are covered by the taxpayer, though you pay out of pocket for over-the-counter drugs. US and Canadian residents can apply to join the health service once they're legal residents.
Some public hospitals do have issues with overcrowding and long wait times, so there are private medical plans available. However, if you choose to live in rural areas, especially those in the south, public hospitals and doctors will probably be the only kind available.
Italy is happy to welcome retiring expats and their spending money. But to legally live in Italy as a retiree, you’ll need to be able to show that you still have an income.
Retirement income can come from many sources including:
Even if all of your income comes from abroad, you'll still need to file an annual tax return with Italy. When they file their taxes, expats may be required to complete additional filings and be subject to specific reporting requirements. Taxation regulations vary between countries, so consult an accountant for advice on how to remain tax compliant back home and in your new country.

I suggest a PPV ComedyGold44 YouTube channel-style subscription for all his threads here. If you want to read and contribute, pay for it! Even at $1/thread from each of his avid followers he will make up for his monthly rent hike.
Does Italy really award residency in 6 months to US citizens and then provides them free healthcare for life? Is there a catch somewhere?
Wonderful place! I lived there for three years but before I could appreciate a society with universal health coverage, a 43% max tax bracket while still offering a social umbrella and a strong political force left of center.Could I retire in Italy at age 50 with about 900,000 in the bank

Doesn't Switzerland grant citizenship/permanent residency if you invest some amount, ($1 million?).
OP says he will have millions when he is ready to retire.
Sounds like he will have to be less prolific after your deal.Let me know your address, I'll buy the building complex and keep your rent the same as long as you create 5 new threads on here every day.

Taiwan is another place that ranks high for healthcare. The costs even for tourists that are not under their national healthcare program are very reasonable.Italy ranks hgih for health care. The Servizio Sanitario Nazionale does have considerations for ex-pats and retirees.

I can't imagine talk tennis without those two.
With sureshs on ignore you have missed probably 20+ threads predicting Nadal m1000 or major victories that have gone down in flames horribly.
Tom probably lives in a psych ward next to a smelly swamp full of flies
Sushi is probably long dead and communicates through a digital imprint in some super computer near San Jose
dgold- I talked to your landlord... she said the problem is that your apartment smells like old, dead shrimp (???), and that she is getting too many complaints from your neighbors about you hanging your wrestling tights/gi in the window to air dry. It creeps them out a little.
The neighbors said it looks like a little old man hanging in the window.... but I informed the landlady that it is NOT a wrestling outfit.... it is just dgold STANDING and looking out the window monitoring the dregs of the city WEARING his wrestling gi ready for action. Your landlady thought that was funny. She must've thought it was really funny because she was laughing way too hard about it and said something I didn't understand. Sounded Russian.
Only if you hire an assassin to liquidate you when you are 65 years old. I'm factoring in the 100K that the assassin would cost you.Could I retire in Italy at age 50 with about 900,000 in the bank

I think all animals deserve a fair trial. That's why I like to try a little of the lamb and a little of the steak at the restaurant before I emit my verdict.I guess warmth and kindness are not my strength but I have a huge huge soft spots for the injustice of animals
How much exactly are you paying by month? I guarantee you Vegas is a joke (as in cheap) compared to a place like SF.I live in one of the best apartment complexes in Vegas
There is nobody on my walls but $150 jump a month is a joke .
I hate to move again but most of the other complexes are just going to be loud neighbors blasting their music all day
What a tiny quandary but I will stay
. I only think I will be here another 4 yrs
I heard Uruguay is nice ???
Vegas will be expensive as the wealth is moving into 2 areas and the subhuman filth is packed into rest of city

LOL. You can't even rent a 1 bedroom for that type of money in a reputable place in SF, or even in the surrounding Bay Area. You need to go back in time about 20 years to pay that money for a 2 bedroom in the surrounding area, but not in SF. Count your blessings.I will be paying 1,550 for 2 bedroom I share with my invisible man and my other 2 silent friends (smith and Wesson )
