That's EXACTLY what makes him NOT a sissy. Sissies are afraid to cry in public. They are scared so they hold it in.
It takes a lot of courage and guts to show your true emotions and to cry in public. Federer gained so much more respect and gained so many more fans after he cried at the AO.
Few men have to guts and courage to play tennis with mono and to cry in public.

I'm sorry, but did Ancic make it to 20 consecutive GS semis, win 5 consecutive Wimbledons and US Opens, was ranked #1 for 237 consecutive weeks, and had to defend his AO title and his #1 ranking?What about Ancic then look how much time he had to take off whilst Federer missed only one stinking exo event at Kooyong?

Ancic is still a proffessional athlete and got into the top 10 in his career. So what your saying is when every other tennis player gets mono they take months off and are bed ridden but when Federer gets mono he can still play at a high level?

Some people die from swine flu and some people don't. Not everyone's resistance to every virus is the same. Federer probably has a much stronger immune system. For the lack of a better word, Federer is almost like superhuman. Just look at all he's achieved in such a short period of time and some of the stuff he's able to do on a tennis court. He's not normal. He never looks tired and almost never sweats (except when he had mono). Most humans can't come close to what he does. Besides, Ancic has always looked a little sickly to me, even when he's healthy.
Why would fed lie about having mono? He isn't like some fans, he really doesn't have a history of making excuses for every loss, and his movement at the AO 09 was visibly affected as a direct result of illness. And if he wasn’t sick are you actually claiming that he pulled out of Kooyong as a precaution so that he could have an excuse were he to lose at the AO? Isn’t this taking the conspiracy theories a bit too far?
