Is Rafa determined to battle for the YE number 1? Doesn't look like it from his performance against Ferrer.
or perhaps ferrer was just the better player on the day.
why are people surprised, i dont know.
anyone watching todays finals should realize that ferrer means business, so all props to him.
I bet Djokovic regrets he lost early in all of IW, Miami, Canada, Cincinnati. If he gained 1000 more points in those 4 tournaments he'd be in better position to end the year at no 1 than Nadal.
Given that Nadal didn't make the Paris Indoor final (hence got 240 points less than what you list (understandable because you wrote it before the semi-final)) ....Djokovic can still get ahead. (Round robin matches at the WTF earn 200 points each....so Nadal needs two matches). By the way, Djokovic can earn 275 points at the Davis Cup (not sure if he played any dead rubbers in the earlier rounds...so perhaps it is 225 points). Please refer to:
(The Davis Cup section).
Nadal 2 WTF matches
Yes - Nadal needs 2 WTF matches to secure it. It is on his racket.
pretty fast ? allright if you call august/september 2014 ''pretty fast'' '
Yea yea yea we'll talk after Miami, maybe sooner.
It truly is a joy reading your bitter, pathetic excuse-filled comments.
You can slice it any way you want, but the fact of the matter is Nadal stepped it up when it mattered most, and Djokovic didn't. 2 slams over Djokovic this year, 2>1. Deal with it.
You mean Pascal Maria stepped up for Nadal when mattered the most?
Anyway, the year end #1 is not determined only by number of slams won.
Slam points: Djokovic 5120, Nadal 4010
Mickey Mouse points: Djokovic 0, Nadal 900.
It is clear who deserves YE #1 more. Djokovic of course. You should learn to deal with it. Thanks.
bla bla bla your boy won only 1 major this year again. Deal with it! He deserves 2nd place.
OF course he will.
He has Wawrinka and his official-massager BerdGirl in the group. Also, I am not sure if Ferrer would be able to do ******* twice in a row.
He is determined. But he was more determined to avoid Novak on the indoors which certainly would have done damage to the H2H for him.
lol So much for slamming that door. Djokovic on a mission now.
Nadal will do everything in his power to win 2 RR matches. Expect to see an inspired Rafa next week.
BINGO. That's why he's out buying band-aid's now.
So Djokovic 10.610 + 1500 + 150 = 12260
Nadal wins only one match = 12230
It would be a great surprise to see Djoker get year end nr. 1 TBH, I think Nadal will quit for another 8 months if he misses it.
Then he'd come back to win two slams and dominate the tour.
Do you really believe the sheet you type?
Novak Djokovic isn't gonna be the YE #1. He only needs one loss and it's game over for him.
One more win
Yep, court slower than slow and tired opponents.
Capy should be proud of his achievement.
Last time you jinxed Nadal by making this thread one day before Ferrer match.
Please don't do the same again.
Once Rafa has won his next match, then we can bump this thread up.
Till then, let's not make bold predictions.
Not superstitious here
See. Superstition is crap.
I hope when the door was slammed, Djokovic didn't get hurt
This is Gold!!
He only slammed it gently....it not like Novak that far behind.
Judging by his current winning streak, Novak is not hurting that bad (or maybe he is and it galvanizes him!) I hope both guys keep alternating #1 in the future. I love them both. Tennis has never been better for me. In the past, I usually disliked 1 of the top 2. I can only hope this tennis nirvana lasts for a bit (before the obligatory servebot pops up and ruins everything ) Rafa and Novak are such complete players. Never has there been at the top 2 guys with such exceptional transition game (defense/offense).
Next. Frikkin. Level. Gif!
Yes there has, such as Federer and Nadal from 2005 - 2009.
You have such a nice wit. Very funny.
