Gone are the days when Rafa as an 18 year-old participates at RG in his first try and wins it.

social media destroyed the next gen. Tsitsipas should vlog less and Kyrgios should stop twatting:rolleyes:

are there some serious studies about this ?
i think it's indeed one of the factors behind the absolute and unprecedented failure of these so-called 'next gen(s)' (sorry @Meles )
(i have to confess i despise social media, though)

still, do other sports suffer a similar sad fate ?
i mean, in cycling young pros appear to enjoy lots of success these days (despite cycling traditionnaly rewarding old guys, when compared to other sports)... but i guess the context is different as they're part of a team (which helps/forces them to stay focused?) and maybe the 'inner outdoor' nature of cycling tends to keep you away from 'the grid'?
other sports, i have no idea......

True signs of a very weak young generation.

It must lower the credentials of the great players who have won slams over the past few years. Who’s won the most slams from 2015 onwards, Lew - do you have those stats?

What signs of weak generation? They may lose to Big3 just because Big3 are better.

Federer is 9-1 (loss to Tsitsipas at 2019 AO).

Big3 overall are 34-2.
As impressive as it looks, it's alarming that these youngsters cannot overthrow the players who, even though ATGs, have passed their 30th birthdays (not to mention Federer who will be 40 in two years). The state of men's tennis doesn't look promising at all.

A record of 2-34, as posted by you earlier in this thread.
Why could not be just the sign that the Big3 are too good?

If anything, tell me that these next gen are not consistent against the rest of the field. This would make sense.
