Thiem actually plays well here though. It's his best Slam outside RG and he's made the 4th round or better 4/5 times he's played. If he plays like he did against Anderson, it should be a great match.

can't deny it, don't want fed's slam record to go and well tbh i'm just not fond of what the us open has become in general and i don't like seeing it play the way it does, winning from returning from the vip box is just not the type of tennis i enjoy but to each their own.
i mean lets not like act like other fans don't feel the same way about their favs rivals when it comes to winning slams, we all want our favs to hold on to certain records

lol I think you are making a bigger deal here but ok. no fed's tennis is first and foremost what I love (unless he is shanking left and right and making 50 double faults).
in any case, even if I did care a lot more about records, what does it matter. I wouldn't be the first nor the last and that goes for all fanbases. I can't believe this much has been made all because I don't want nadal winning the uso. people like you are just weird

2008 and 2017 are the disappointing ones - I'm a fan of the Novak-Rafa trilogy from the first part of this decade, as well as Del Potro's fantastic '09 run, so the near misses in 2009-11 and 2013 are fine as is.
2017 was shaping up to be the battle for #1 for the season, but wasn't to be. 2008 would've meant epic title fights across a 4 major cycle, even if I'd slightly favor Fed to have won that one.

lmao an obvious exaggeration. true I don't like nadal (perhaps some due to his fanbase idk), his style of play and his recent mindless tennis comment has really soured me that coupled with how the USO plays, I'm not fond of him winnign the tournament.
