Nadal and Federer and Dominance in a Season

In determining the career greatness of Nadal and Federer, how important is their dominance in a season.

As we all know, Federer has had three seasons (2004-2006) where he has won more than 90% of his matches in a season. Before the final, I thought if Nadal had won then his winning percentage for 2010 would have been above 90%. I was incorrect and with the defeat, Nadal's winning percentage for 2010 is 88%.

Nadal will never dominate like Federer did from 04-07.

Agree and I think one of Fed's motivations to keep playing at a high level, and he will never admit this, is to stem the Nadal tide. With Fed around Nadal is not going to dominate the way Fed did back in his heyday.

therefore, with each of them sharing a similar load of tournament wins each year Federer will remain the GOAT, while Nadal will probably end up 2nd best ever
