Nadal - ANOTHER RECORD - Only player to win a Masters 1000 at least 5 times on two different surfaces

Want me to make a poll then and we will see based on results of the community? Ask yourself this, why would a player like Thiem skip an even that only happens every 4 years if it were so prestigious? Thiem would never skip the WTF unless he was injured.

https://www.southbendtribune.com/sp...cle_4d142f3f-1067-5f47-b6d7-49d0cb6c999c.html

Obviously some players value the Olympics more than others, but there isnt some kind of consensus that you alluding to. However every player values the WTF and participate given the opportunity unlike the Olympics.

Why would I care about a poll in a forum that's dominated by Fedt*rds? LMAO. I'm afraid you don't know the meaning of "objective proof".

he did :)

Yeah, it's unfortunate Nadal didn't have to play GOATs like Gonzalez or Baghdatis LMAO.
No worries, he did:
Because its slam counts just as much as the others, and it's gonna make Nadal surpass him eventually as long as he keeps winning there. Too bad Federer couldn't beat Nadal on his own turf, unlike the other way round, huh?
Counting them chickens, honey?
Yeah, Nadal sure ran from Federer at non-clay slams lol. Unlike Federer who skipped a slam for years because he knew he had no chance there. Call me when Federer beats Nadal at RG, like Nadal beat him at Wimbledon and AO :-D
For years? You mean 2 years when he was 36-37 years old?

I prefer this:

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much does this one make you cry?

So another one who can't read. Is it a common trait among Fedt*rds?

and it's gonna make Nadal surpass him eventually as long as he keeps winning there.

Oh, so skipping slams when you're uninjured is ok when you're 36-37? Does it say so in the fedt*rd manual of excuses?

Ifs, together with shoulds and woulds, are in Fed's fan expertise field, so wont say anything...

So he won one clay tournament 6 times, and other two 0 times? Isn't he most vertisale, adoptive, talented player... ever? Or not?

Sorry, but no, whole Federer carrier nothing changed, he knew there is one grass slam and no grass masters...
He wanted to make things harder on him because he wanted a challenge. :sneaky:

Pretty bad but being Nadal's daddy and proving it the round before was some consolation.

Unfortunately Fed didn't have Schwartzman and Berrettini and had to play Nishikori, Nadal and Djokovic instead. Nadal the king of peasant draws and a peasant surface. He can will all the Peasant Opens all he wants, this clay courter will never be the GOAT.

You don't get a say on the matter, buddy.

Yeah, Federer was unlucky to face a goat like Dimitrov this year in the USO :-D

Here, enjoy, both of you:

Maybe you are right... We already know about The Weak Era, mother of all weak eras...
The difference between Federer and Djokovic is that Federer didn't let inferior opponents beat him in slams finals like Djokovic did. Blame Novak, not Roger. Fed won like a GOAT is supposed to.

Put your goggles on. It's clay time once again! Geezuz

Oh, look, it's Fedt*rds crying about clay again! Come up with something new, will you?

Maybe you guys should make a petition to the ATP so that they ban that nasty, evil surface that hurts Fed so bad, I'm sure they'll listen to you :-D

Uh, please do lol. Something besides clay in the past 5 years. Oh right... :(

Topspin work good on the clay, no? No work anywhere else anymore, no?

14 thousand French Opens and a couple of Berrettini Opens don't make you GOAT, Bobby.
Yeah, Federer was unlucky to face a goat like Dimitrov this year in the USO :-D
Yeah Fed played like crap. It happens at 38. Still never loses to Nadal LMAO. Unless it's the peasant open of course.
Here, enjoy, both of you:
Yeah this is the only place Nadal can beat Federer since 2014. LMAO.

What is this Berretini Open you speak of? Another one of your deliriums? Sorry, Nadal has 19 and Fed 20, better pray Nadal's number doesn't increase next year, buddy.

You right are.

The same logic applies to the ATP finals.

Years played on indoor hard: every year.
Years played on indoor grass: never.
Years played on indoor clay: never.

So if we want surface's distribution in the tour, it should be applied everywhere, not only in Masters 1000. Otherwise, we would be displaying a double standard logic.

In an "ideal" world, a "perfect" distribution would be as follows:

3 Masters 1000 on clay, 3 Masters 1000 on grass and 3 Masters 1000 on hard. The ATP finals rotate each year: one year played on indoor hard, the next year on indoor grass, next year on indoor clay, and so on.

Why does the ATP finals have to be indoors? I agree that it should rotate but I'm not sure why it couldn't be outdoors sometimes. Perhaps there's a good reason. In the past there was. But now that ostensibly outdoor tournaments often have roofs, and that Shanghai is outdoors so there is only one indoor masters, it seems to me both that there is less of a dichotomy between indoor and outdoor than there was and that there is less of a clearly demarcated indoor season than there was.

Also, I'm not sure that indoor grass would really work. There should be a fast surface in the rotation, so either outdoor grass (which could be held in Australia, or really anywhere south of the Tropic of Capricorn) or indoor carpet would work. They should not have abolished carpet, at least not with that stupid excuse about injuries.

The Berrettini Open, used to be know as the Youzhny Open in the past. Nadal's greatest rivals in the last rounds of Slams.

0-14 against Fed/Djokovic outside of clay since 2013/2014. xxxxDDDDDDDDDD

He can win the Berrettini open, though.

Yeah, both Fed and Djokovic were below average, that's why they lost. And that's why Nadal won. I wouldn't be surprised if Nadal never beat them again outside of clay so his Berrettini Opens aren't worth S.

I'm sure Nadal is trembling to face Federer at RG... that is, if federer doesn't run away again.

Run away again? LMAO woot. Who's running away from whom? Nadal is ZERO-SIX vs Fed outside of clay since 2014 AO. ALMOST 6 YEARS. I'm sure Fed's in a pampers when he sees Nadal on grass or a hard court LMAO.

100% sure you were singing a different tune back in the day LMAO. Suddenly draws don't matter when Nadal started to win his by beating the Berrettinis of the world LMAAAAO?

Two months ago, Nadal became the first and only male player in the history of tennis to win a Masters 1000 at least 5 times on two different surfaces. Nadal has won 11 Montecarlo titles, 8 Rome titles and 5 Canadian Open.

Amazing versatility on 2 surfaces from Nadal!

Djokovic only needs 1 extra Rome title to achieve this record.

Federer would need to win 3 more Madrid titles to achieve this record.
Ombeleebable, ¿no?

:/

The main reason I'm doing it because I've been (t)here done that with Nadal fans talking about their h2h 24/7 years ago.

This H2H **** is nonsense, so Sampras gets lauded for actually SUCKING on clay? How many matches would have Sampras won against Nadal? Would Federer get more credit for sucking on clay so he loses to a different guy all the time instead of reaching the finals and losing to arguably the greatest (minimum second best) clay courter ever? That is some logic

Well, here's what I had to say about H2H 9 years ago. That took me around 10 seconds to find using the search function, so you better apreciate my efforts.

Why are you jumping to Slams when we are discussing Masters 1000? You wanna jump to Slams? OK.

You are just considering 2 of the 3 surfaces but not considering the 3 as a whole. In other words, you are considering only hard and grass, but strategically ignoring clay. If we consider the 3 surfaces as a whole, Nadal has won at least 2 Slams on 3 surfaces (hard, grass and clay). Federer only has 1 Slam on clay. Figure out what Federer would need to have his Slams so evenly distributed by surface as Nadal. He needs another RG.

2 Slams on each surface >>> 1 Slam on each surface. 2 >>1. Nadal has his Slams more evenly distributed by surface than Federer.
Rafa is the only one of the 3 that won slams on 3 different surfaces in a year.

“Tokyo is a beautiful city, but I would rather spend a full week in Kitzbuhel. That decision was not particularly difficult,” Thiem said during a press conference on Monday.

“For me, the Olympics is athletics, swimming – for me as a tennis player it’s a dream to be here in Wimbledon, to play well there. Of course it would be nice to be at the Olympics once, but I do not dream of it every day.Thiem said in 2015.

why don’t you quote Murray who said his olympic gold is worth just as much as his wimbledon title or DelPo saying his bronze medal is worth more than his USO.
