My theory is that their rivalry would not be so lopsided in Nadal's favor if Roger had a consistent coaching presence on his team. Surely he would have won more matches early in their rivalry (2004-2006 timeframe) had he had someone like Annacone to scout and devise a strategy to best utilize his talents to exploit the weaknesses of Nadal. Nadal's game (serve, return of serve, volley) was nowhere near what it is today but the fact that he always had Uncle Toni there for him was a distinct advantage. I recall the 2007 Italian Open final when Federer was accusing Uncle Toni of coaching his nephew during the match.
