It would appear that a lot of people have already made up their minds, which at least adds some much needed sunshine to my day here in this very early morning.

Agassi says that Rafa could already be the greatest ever:

Agassi : "But this guy I don't think has to win more to prove that he can be argued as the best of all time."

Rafael Nadal Might Just Be the Best Ever

And while that leaves him four behind Roger Federer and one behind Pete Sampras in major championships—the recognized metric of greatness—it’s become increasingly clear that Nadal is making a deadly serious case for Greatest of All Time. And given his head-to-head success against Federer, the presumptive G.O.A.T., he just may already be there.

Sampras said- "To me Roger has clearly been the greatest ever". He merely said Nadal has a case and can be GOAT in the future

if nadal retired today roger could never be considered the greatest since he was pretty ineffective against rafa. trophies are nice. but nadal owns him.

Even more, many tennis followers and analysts are already beginning to consider Nadal as the greatest ever, given his list of accomplishments (26 Masters, 14 ATP World Tour 500 and a Career Golden Slam) as well as his Grand Slam wins and his impeccable head-to-head record against Federer (21-10), Murray (13-5) and Djokovic (22-15).
"There are already some who name him as the best ever, and if he claims four more Grand Slam titles, reaching the current milestone of Federer's 17, it won't even be a debate anymore," said Gardner in his article.

If 17-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer isn't feeling his grip on Best Ever slipping after this, and Pete Sampras, who resides just one Grand Slam title ahead of Nadal's new total of 13, isn't feeling the Spaniard's breath on his neck like a hot draft from hell, the two of them should.

By any measure -- head-to-head career statistics, the anecdotal evidence, or just the eyeball test -- it's Djokovic, not the more celebrated Federer, who has been Nadal's most consistently dangerous opponent.

US Open Tennis 2013: Is Rafael Nadal in the Greatest of All Time Discussion?
By Lindsay Gibbs September 10, 2013

Since Nadal is 27 years old and finishing up one of the best years of his already illustrious career, it seems like it's time to start talking about him in the all-time greats category of this sport.
Nadal has always been a part of the conversation, since his head-to-head over Federer is so lopsided (21-10) in his favor, but Federer's 17 trophies and Nadal's hard-to-overcome reputation as a clay-court specialist have always muted the discussion.

Former British number one John Lloyd believes Nadal's recovery from injury and subsequent form makes his year the greatest in the history of tennis for any player.

Former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash agreed that Nadal was now a serious threat to Federer at the top of the Grand Slam standings.
"Nadal could surpass Federer's total of 17," the Australian said.
"That debate over who is the greatest is fun but pointless, but you can't argue with eight French Opens and maybe more to come.
"He has got a style of game that nobody has seen before. He's got an intensity and speed that nobody has seen before. He's very much a modern-day player. He's created this new style of play.

Natural, if you don't mind, how do you get the link to work that way, using Sampras instead of the page?...sorry, don't know how to do that

great, thanks...I need, and like, to dig a little deeper....wished I had grown up with all this stuff :)

For future reference, when you click QUOTE to quote a post, you can see all of the text of that post as well as the native HTML tags. You can often use that to find out how a poster did what.

The forum's FAQ covers several things as well, but assumes you know some things that are basic to all forums (like linking). You can figure that out by Googling it case by case.
