Nadal has an ear infection

Seriously though as funny as some of these posts are, I sympathize with anybody with ear troubles. I can't fly on a plane unless I get some kind of procedure done (and I haven't had tubes put in yet), and about a month ago I had a really bad wax buildup in my ear. I actually bought stuff to cure it, but it made it a lot worse before it made it better. It was complete agony for 2 days. I couldn't get comfortable at all. Like Chadillac said, once it eventually gets flushed out is one of the best feelings ever.

I sympathise completely Steve. I too suffer from periodic wax problems (recently had to go private to have my ears flushed out as you have to wait weeks for an NHS appointment). Last year I suffered a nasty bout of shingles in my left ear on top of a wax problem which spread down the side of my face and caused the facial muscles on that side to droop (needed a course of steroids to sort that one out and hearing in left ear never completely returned to normality). Ear problems are no joke, I can vouch for that too!

Really?
Margaret Court Arena is not just for lepers:confused:

(Be sure that USO13 will not happen again)
Once Djokovic and Murray went out that early, it was obvious that there wouldn't be the usual rotation to Margaret Court - it was a cinch that the organizers would keep the top draw cards for Rod Laver once there was that dropout. Not everything is some evil machination (against Djokovic)

My post about AO 17 has nothing to do with Djokovic or Murray for that matter.
I firmly belive and saw with my own eyes that tennis establishment intentionally changed the court conditions (without reasonable cause as when they replaced RA with Plexi) to favor Federer game. And he is the best at using chances that were given to him.
I'm not the only one. Everyione who followed AO17 without insane bias would know. Craig Tilley AO CEO was not given denial to the locker room players talk for nothing. Not once but twice.

So they changed the courts to ultra slow HC in 2008 and it took them a decade to realize that the surface isn't helping Fed but Djokovic (or Nadal) instead?

Or maybe they actually don't like Fed and waited until he was 35,5 thinking he couldn't take advantage?

The reason they sped up the courts was not to help Federer (who was out for 6 months so who would've thought he had any chance to win) but to avoid another Djokovic-Murray final. One more final contested between these 2 would've killed the Australian Open for good.

If you watched and followed the sport without rose colored fed glasses, if your brain was not washed by media spin for years you would know official reason for RA change -sticky under the australian sun and potentially danger to players well being ( could cause injuries ).

I never follow the tennis media because I don't need others to shape my opinions. The only reason to read official statements is to see what dumb excuses they come up with to cover the things they wanna hide. It's exactly how politics work.

Yeah but this wasn't the case in any other edition since 2008 LOL. It only got unbearably hot in 2016. Makes total sense. It wasn't hot enough in 2009 (Djokovic retiring against Roddick) or 2014 f.e.

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/01/15/sport/tennis/australian-open-weather-heat/

And you're telling me to use my brain ROFLMAO, the level of your hypocrisy is as high as ever.

It wasn't until we had a second consecutive Djokovic-Murray final that the organizers decided to change the surface. 2015/2016 were the first consecutive editions when we had boring finals.

2008 - good
2009 - fantastic
2010 - Federer masterclass so no-one whined
2011 - snoozefest
2012 - epic
2013 - snoozefest
2014 - very up and down and interesting final
2015 - snoozefest
2016 - snoozefest

Given that Djokovic/Murray were by far the best 2 players in 2016 another final between them was coming up at the AO. The tournament organizers did the right thing to avoid it.

You did go on about Fed being given RLA and no Margaret Court - I was responding specifically to that. On the matter of the court speeds, so what if they decided they wanted more enterprising tennis? And when exactly did you complain when they slowed down the grass and USO and gave the advantage to Djokiovic et al? Oh wait, you thought this changing of court speeds would be a one-way exercise forever? Slow down only? And wow, you mean we've so reduced the variety of the players' abilities by this time, that only one single individual could do well on faster courts? Only one person? Wowsers

That person being almost 36 years old too. Doesn't look like a good investment to me. So they basically resurfaced 20 courts for a guy who's gonna play 1-3 more editions at most.

Well if as you say they made it so fast now, they could have made the changed court just as fast when they switched surfaces... instead of slowing it down to suit one or two players who shall remain nameless. Judging from the astonishing increase in media ratings, it may have been that by last year the organizers got the message that their metronome product wasn't selling so well

Tennis has disgraced itself once again. Rafa wasnt feeling good so they rescheduled his match a day later. So much for the integrity of the sport
I just pointed at double standards of fanboy above. And ofc bunch of others will jump on my back. Butt hey this FFTTW:oops:

Murray lost in R4, hero Fed got 2 qualifiers to play at RL , there is still one match, don't you think?
You can say what ever you want , you won't change my belives about AO17.

And big fat LOL to slowing down grass (2003 Djok was 15yo) to favor tennis villain from nowhere, without grass game . They favored him to win against grass finest:eek::eek:

And a top 10 player in the 3rd round followed by Nishikori in great form in the 4th. LMAO you are so biased you would've dissed Federer for playing a qualifier in a tournament where he beat Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Del Potro in consecutive matches. The guy had a nightmare draw and came through, even one of the qualifiers he beat (Melzer) was a former top 10 player and showed up in good form. The only player who was an easier opponent for him considering the round was Zverev in the QF, the same Zverev who beat Murray in the previous round.

If they love Fed so much (and hate Djokovic) why didn't they speed up the grass for 2014-2016?

No offence but you are one of the easiest people to own here. This is what happens when you base your statements on your beliefs instead of logic/facts.

Hero Fed? Methinks your slip is showing

Keep believing what you like. You never made any sense here and by the looks of it you never will.

Plexhi used since 2008 but the tournament organizers decided to speed up the courts 10 years later to help a 35 year old Fed who didn't play an official match in 6 months at that point and wasn't even certain to play....LMFAO.

And you won't change the fact that the AO 2017 win solidified Federer's status as the GOAT and that your hero Gumby won't likely ever catch him even if he manages to get his head out of the clouds tomorrow. Seven more slams? Good luck with that. Your hero should have won more slams when he had the chance in his prime but he lost too many to Murray and Wawrinka(players Federer owns at the slams by the way.) Chew on that! Also, why can't Djokovic(a GOAT contender in your mind) adapt better to conditions that don't suit him perfectly? He has trouble on faster hcs, he complains about the extreme heat, the sunlight in his eyes, blue clay, you name it.

Tennis pro and pame are right. With the through the roof ratings of the AO 2017 final, the execs may finally get the message that they should speed up all of the courts because not that many people can endure more Djokovic-Murray bore-fests.

Federer’s five-set victory averaged of 1,133,000 viewers — the most since 2004, a year before the move to an overnight (3 a.m.) time slot in 2005. The audience was up 107% over last year (from 547,000 featuring Novak Djokovic’s defeat of Andy Murray).

Dont tell him that - he has enough with Pepe Imaz leading Djokovic's team. Dont be so harsh dude

buuuuut....he'll play. He just postponed his pre-tournament press conference until Monday.

Hmmm. Pouille was sick too and dumped doubles today.......:D

I wonder how many of Fedlovers (aka Rafa haters) complained when Fed asked the 2016 Brisbane tournament organisers to delay his start until Thursday because of his illness.

LOL, how about we replace Fed with Rafa in your statement. Does it still stand ???? :D

I think the ear infection is due to a lack/shortage of on-court coaching ? Earlier Uncle Toni's sweet voice kept his ears healthy but now ....
What say @vive le beau jeu ! ??? :D :D

Fed got sick because his team has been caught hiding something they're doing during his matches:
