Nadal has been in the top 10 since 25-04-2005

Hmm. Fed devotees have been constantly vocal about Fed's injuries.

His "chronic" knee injury in particular is the biggest joke across all sports.

The pinnacle of that parody was the knee bandage that made an appearance in the Shanghai 2017 final: not seen before or after that match for a long time. It curiously coincided with Nadsy being pasted by Feddie all year. These days Nadsy runs like a rabbit, he doesn't even pretend: HC, Clay, Grass, whatever.

If it weren't for that knee injury, Federer most likely would not have won his lone French Open.

How did Federer not end in the 10 in 2016 despite reaching two Slam SF in that year

Because it's not just about the actual results, but also how much you play. Nadal simply played quite a lot in 2015 and while his form was abominable, he actually still won a lot more matches than he lost. FOr his standards it was a por year, sure, but he still won 3 titles and made 6 finals including a masters final and 2 masters SFs. In 2016 again his slam results were abysmal but the rest of his results were actually pretty decent.

Of course he still needed just that tad of luck to stick at #10 for weeks and not quite falling to #11, but that's true for anyone, everybody needs some luck with any record.

Nadal has a shot at the overall Top 10 record as well. *Only 3 years worth behind and Fed won't add much.

More nonsense...

So, just like Fed's back injury in WIM03?

Or when he called the trainer after the 4th set against Stan at the AO17 SF?

Oh... and again before the fifth set in the final against Rafa?

Or the mystery leg excuse when he lost to Berdych in WIM10?

Or pulling out of the WTF final against Novak? Only to play Davis Cup a week later... that ol' back again huh?

So now that Nadal fans think consecutive weeks and total weeks in top 10 ranking are an important career metric, I assume they think consecutive weeks and total weeks at number one are also an important career metric.

Wow has this site hit new lows. Geez. Let’s chill. It’s just tennis. Have fun, but not at others’ expense.

Anyway, congrats to Nadal for breaking this record. 15 1/2 consecutive years in the top 10 is incredible.

Fed's medical timeouts at the 2017 AO run just reeks of desperation, especially the one against nadal. Haven't won a slam in 5 years up until that point. Guess he'll do anything at that time to win a slam. I don't get why people don't bring that up more often. And he won the sportsmanship award that year too. LMAO

How Nadal managed to stay in the top 10 after his 2015/16 seasons is beyond me. Federer dropped to No 17, yet he had a far better 2015 and half of 2016. Strange system this ATP rankings.
Nadal didn't skip large portions of a season. Even with worse results, it wasn't that hard to stay top 10 if he played week in-week out.

His closest was after FO 15 at no.10.

Djoko and Fed skipped about half an year or more each in 2017 and 2016 respectively.

It's really strange how he managed to stay in the top-10 in 2015-2016 given his results. Not even a single slam 1/4 final for a year and a half, no semifinal for 2 years and a half.
I’m surprised he stayed in the top 10 around 2015-16. What kept him there?
He was (unusually) very good at the indoors season, gave roger a scar in Basel final, made WTF semi without losing a set. Went deep into paris and Shanghai.
Also, he won a couple of 500s, made one masters final, 2 semis, and 3 QFs if I'm not wrong.
Made it to the QF of RG, AO.
In other words, he was probably zverev of 2019, maybe a bit better.

Nadal was one match away from being pushed out of the top 10 in 2015, on 2 occasions (Roland garros and Wimbledon).

These things have been discussed in detail. I am sorry that you weren't around to read the explanations at the time, but that is up to you, no one should care that you are lazy and didn't care to inform yourself.

Anyway, enjoy your time, as Nadal doesn't have much time at the top of the game left. Soon you will find yourself still with a chip on your shoulder, and he will be retired!

Federer just about had a semi at aus open and wimbledon rest nothing to show, nadal won mc, barcelona and reached latter stages in madrid, rome also reached 4th round at Us open so overall a better year

So now that Nadal fans think consecutive weeks and total weeks in top 10 ranking are an important career metric, I assume they think consecutive weeks and total weeks at number one are also an important career metric.

I am a Federer fan, just thought it was worth a mentioning. He is like the number one on the list, always deserves some attention.

Using your words about Rafa, I say that Fed's "chronic" back injury in particular is the biggest joke across all sports and this is one of the pinnacles of that parody (@The_Order mentioned WIM03):

All it shows is that all the Big 3 have these type of career metrics.

When Federer defeated Simon in the 2015 Wimbledon quarterfinals, he did not only himself a favor, but Nadal as well.

Thanks for correcting my mistake and highlighting an important Nadal accomplishment as a Federer fan.
