Nadal Has Now Skipped over 40 "Big" Tournaments

Federer earned the right at around 32 after going through the grind and being in the top of tennis world for several years. I believe Nadal and Djokovic has attained similar status to be able to pick and choose the tournaments they want to participate. I can understand that they want to maximize their winning % when they enter a tournament. If ithe surface plays very fast and Nadal stands little chance, why bother.

Both fed and djok will be ready I guess!

Truly skipping tournaments is no problem. Collecting your appearance fee, then withdrawing without playing a match is not cool.

no hope? Rafa finished the season he turned 32 with 17 slams. Nole will end the equivalent season with...16 slams :unsure:
Djokovic said he's given up on chasing the slam record :)

Isn't Djokovic about to break the world record for weeks at #1? Not to mention dominates the H2H record against both Nadal and Federer?
Too bad nobody cares, the world only measures you by how many slams you've won, as we just saw at the US Open......and be prepared for 19 vs. 20 at the Australian Open, because that is all the media will talk about.....

How is Djoker dominating their h2h? He leads Roger by 4 and Rafa by 2, that's not the definition of domination.
True although if we look at the past 8-9 years then it's fairly lopsided for Djokovic in that regard over both of them. Or at least when he started becoming a serious Slam contender back in 2011. He's been dominant on hards and grass over both.

Since the start of his career on Tour, Nadal has now missed in excess of 40 ( ) of tennis' biggest tournaments (Masters 1000 or bigger).

The time away figures into the equation, no?

In the end, all three will be on fairly equal footing.

guess I’ll never find out why does this make sense according to you two, no matter how many times I ask.
Look, it's fairly straightforward.

But think about it this way: What's the incentive to attempt to explain it when dismissive and/or insulting responses are the likely result?

Right.

haha what a way to avoid answering something you didn’t realize you’d have to explain and now you’d like to avoid it at all costs. You and @tennis_pro do nothing but fight and provoke VB all day and when someone wants an actual response you’re saying crap like this.

Atta guy. (y)

Trust that the issue is your comprehension capacity and nothing more.

Have a pleasant day, sir. :)
