Nadal has the Nemesis Grand Slam over Fed and Djoker

Nadal has beaten Fed in slams on clay, grass, and hardcourt.
Nadal has beaten Djokovic in slams on clay, grass, and hardcourt.

Federer has beaten Nadal in slams only on grass.
Djokovic has beaten Nadal in slams only on grass and hardcourt.

Beating your main opponents in slams on all surfaces is what I call the Nemesis Grand Slam, and it measures the ability to beat your main rivals at the greatest stages of tennis on all surfaces.

Interesting. Nadal's just so dominant even against fellow all time greats.

I also must say that some of Nadal fans are beginning to sound a bit cocky.

And what do you call your biggest rival beating you in 7 straight finals across all 3 surfaces on the biggest stage when you are at your peak?

Cool stuff. How many trophies does Rafa get for that?

I would trade all that for an additional major or more weeks at nr.1.

Why don't you include Roddick, Hewitt, Safin, Ferrero? All are champions and from Fed's generation.

Just saying not fair to put Fed together with Rafa and Nole.
Fed's prime is 2001-2007.

Nadal's prime is 2006-2012

Rafa did get 4 important trophies outisde clay so it is remarkable what he did.

Meanwhile in 5 tries each neither Fed nor Nole managed a damn FO title over Nadal

The nemesis slam...How refreshing.

Interesting sig you have there. Everyone knows, even the most loudest Fed fans have acknowledged that Fed at his peak has been beaten...AO 05 being the prime or should I say peak example of that.

I call that a bad year. Nadal has recovered nicely though, a concept which might be too foreign for Federer diehards to even conceptualize.

How is 2001-2003 and not 2008-2011 prime for Fed?

And how is 2012 and not 2013 prime for Nadal?

Fed recovered nicely against his only loss vs his generation against Safin too.

So, peak Nadal vs his rivals, he looses 7 straight finals. Fed vs his rivals only looses one match from MPs up.

We know who owns his rivals more.

But still, huge credit to Rafa to recover from that.

Nadal and Federer are the same generation. Tbeir primes overlapped for around 5 years, and Nadal was even beating Federer on Fed's best surface when Nadal was 17 and Federer was 22.

Not sure it can be called a bad year for Nadal. He still won a major and a masters and reached the final in two other slams and several masters 1000. Most players would give anything for a year like that.

Nadal hates losing. It was a bad year.

I think all champions hate losing. But some more and less.

Fed said it best, he doesn't like losing. But he said that he thinks like this: I love winning.

And he said that some guys are more into:I hate losing mentality.

Maybe that's why Fed can be mentally fresh and consistent so much. Because if you hate losing you expend a lot more mental energy.

Negative emotions always use more energy.

One of the few times i agree with you :)

Haha. Maybe if we debate long enough, you will convince me Nadal is the goat.

Not because he might me, but because when you listen the same thing over and over again it plays tricks on your mind and you start believing it.

I see this happened to some of Fed fans. Not because h2h is a blemish, but because they listened to this h2h debates too much and now they start to believe it and feel threatened.

It's no trick. 22-10 is very real. On the bright side, not many players have beaten Nadal 10 times. :-P

The trick is not the stat, but the interpretation of the stat.

Yeah, So Fed did it 10 times against one of his rivals. Why does he have to do it more times to prove he is the goat?

He has proven he can do it, in slams too and he has the records.

For me if a guy has the records and he beats his rivals a few times, that is good enough for me.

5 times is a few times too. What if the H2H were 27-5? Some people would find a way to dismiss that anyway.

Doesn't matter as long as Fed has more majors and weeks nr.1.

You just have to win majors and prove you can beat anyone a few times.

You only need to sleep with Jessica Alba once to prove you can conquer her.
You don't have to do it several times. As long as you sleep with thousands of hot actresses too.
