Nadal humble in defeat

It looked to me, as Thiem’s game allways, that Dom is smacking the heck out the ball on every shot. This time his timing and spacing was superb and accuracy on spot.

Anybody, with such power and accuracy will give Nadal hard time on clay, if he continues to play as defensive as he’s done so far.

Thiem took the ball really early on the rise and up the court all the time, taking time away Nadal and to my understanding that is a key to even come close in beating Nadal.

If Nadal lacks the depth, as he quite often does, there will be other young guns to beat him consistently, when his groundies land in the service box, no matter how spinny they might be.

Nadal isn't humble in defeat, he's honest. Part of the reason why his fans think he is humble is because in general he does not let his status get to his head, he doesn't think himself better than others as a human being. That's what makes him humble.

He’s not honest lol. Remember when he wanted the 2 year ranking system purely for his benefit?

He wasn’t honest about how that was going to screw over playing struggling to make ends meet, or how it would practically kill the competition for the number one spot, essentially taking away from the game....

He can suggest whatever he wants, it's only that - a suggestion. That by itself doesn't make him dishonest. And the part about it only being for the benefit of himself is purely your own speculation.

Erm no...In his mind the 2 year proposal mad sense (selfishness, probably) but honest he was. Now, also depends on what lens you are decoding his staments

He also said Thiem is one of the best players in the world , Played very well and everytime he plays well it’s very difficult to stop him , Nada also said that tried to comeback a couple of times but he just wasn’t good enough

F@@@ off guys. What do you want him to say? Yeah mighty mighty thiem is so tough for me how will i cope. i am now getting nightmares at the prospect of facing this dude who has won nothing of note.

as for the VB Thiem is currently best clay courter this year. h2h does not lie. how can nadal be the best clay court player this year if he cant beat clay titan thiem? h2h is everything

also VB it appears nadal doesnt share your overhyping of thiem to prine of clay just to hide that this is the weakest era ever and has been clay for even longer

You can get nadal bedsheets and duvets too. No joke, you just upload the pics to the company they will print it for you brah

lol, Nadal said some funny things sometimes. No reason to hate him for that when you have time wasting, suspect MTO's, and other stuff. Deal with it ;)

Champions mind is something different from those underachieving.

For instant Jack Nicklaus told stubbornly, he’d never 3-putted on a final hole of a major tournament, which de facto is not really true, but in his minds eye is a fact.

"Well, three weeks ago I beat him 6-0 6-3. I don't know if that's a tough player or not. I don't think it's that way,"

When someone starts a sentence with "I'm not gonna lie..." I always pay special attention, 'cause that's when you know a lie is coming ;)

Thiem is an interesting player in that when he plays the top guys he is either completely on or off. He is either extremely competitive or gets blown out with only winning a couple games. There's no telling which version of Thiem shows up.

That's basically what he says before every match. But for some reason his pre-match humbleness doesn't translate to post-defeat humbleness. Shows you how fake it all is.

So you're saying his fans are not very bright, is that it?

I always think it's pretty brutal for the players to have to come out there for the press conference, particularly after a defeat. I mean, they've just put themselves out there, they're exhausted, they're frustrated, adrenaline is probably still through their system. Bit unfair to then weigh up all of their words. Fed certainly has had some of those press conference where he may not have chosen his words that carefully. Never held it against him, won't hold this against Rafa. Don't think he said anything that wasn't true either; obviously not the most gracious words (although I didn't listen to the original interview, and words easily get taken out of context).

Anyway, not everyone can be press conference GOAT like A-Rod.
