Nadal: I don't have to Listen to Toni

Outgrown Toni? How does that work? Nadal won a Slam this year. Did Nadal and his crazed fanatics REALLY think that Nadal was going to win Slam after Slam after Slam, racking them up with ease without meeting some form of resistance?
Federer had Nadal...and now Nadal has Djokovic. It's the way sports works. Younger guys come up and knock you off your perch sooner or later. It was going to happen eventually. Why is Nadal so upset with having a rival?

Judging from his body language and general attitude I don't think Nadal is that upset. He is Majorcan, ..there is always tomorrow. If you read his biography he was well aware that Djoko would come along and push him off his perch quite soon and we fans have probably always known that that would happen.

Nadal has a lot of the traits of a high functioning savant, reading his biography has reinforced the notion in my mind.

You can pretty much read between the lines of that book and know his family doesn't consider him normal.

Like what? I think they baby and coddle him too much,but I haven't noticed anything else that would suggest that they don't consider him normal.

There are cycles in tennis. Everyone has chinks in their armor and eventually the rest of the world figures them out. That's what happening here. Even the great Federer had his game picked apart and people began to win more against him.

That said, Nadal is going through what Courier did at the end of his career. Too intense, too long and you burn out. The candle that burns brightest....

Either Nadal needs to adapt a style that's less hard on his body and especially his head or....he takes longer breaks between tourneys.
