Nadal is finished and should retire

Well it didn't take long for TTW to try and kill the number 1 player on the tour.

So if Nadal manages to make a comeback are you still going to demand he retire? Just Nadal or Nadal and Thiem because it was obviously a setup to let Nadal make a comeback? And shouldn't every player Nadal defeated this year also retire since they were so crappy even Nadal could beat them?

Djokovic is going to look pretty stupid playing by himself.

Posts like these show how quickly people forget that professional tennis players are making millions of dollars playing a game.

It’s great he turned it around and showed it was just a slump during those two years but even if he wasn’t winning majors anymore, there’s still the money, endorsements and the experience of traveling the world to play a game and that’s what’s important at the end of the day.

Rafa is in great shape but his body is kind of like a race horse's legs if that makes sense, very delicate despite all of the power. When he is fine tuned he is a beast but there is risk there. This is why I think Rafa will still have chances for a few more years even if he's doing a high wire balancing act.

Whatever happens he has AT LEAST 3 more French Opens in him ... throw a US Open or AO in there too and maybe a Wimbledon .... puts him ahead of Federer in the GS count.

Phew, I thought this was a thread started by me. :censored:
this is why you should not take you by the emotions, when one hates something or someone, that resent affects not only the soul of the person who feels it but also the body and diseases appear.

I am a huge Nadal fan, have been ever since i first saw him in 2004 before he was famous. Loved his attitude and the way every point was his last. We will never see his like again, and to me he is the greatest tennis player i have seen, although i expect Djookovic to assume that mantle in about 12 months but still, Rafa has had a career that is more than he could have dreamed of.

But his fans and the man himself need to now face reality. He is finished, his game is now obsolete as he is too slow in his movement to carry it off so now his shots are like hitting practice for opponents. Unlike the other Icon of the past decade, Federer, Nadal does not have the god given talent to mask his physical decline as his whole game was built around the physical edge he had over opponents. Even Federer though gets exposed against the other true great of the past decade, Djokovic. But Federer has the talent still to take care of the less gifted players, but Nadal does not and as such, he should announce his retirement at this years FO.

Anyone who thinks Nadal has a chance of winning the FO needs to take the blindfold off. Forget Djokovic, Nadal wont compete with any of the top 10, they will simply hit him off the court. Federer is suffering at the hands of Djokovic but he isnt embarrrassing himself at all, Nadal is and it is trajic to see.

His entourage is his biggest problem...they make alot of money off him so clearly they wont be telling him the brutal truth, which is that he is finished as a world class major winning tennis player, or even Masters 1000.[/QUOTE

I’m also huge Rafa fan and I must admit I’m worried after seeing him get smashed at the AO seems to me that Rafa is past his best I think Djokovic will win FO unless miracle happens

Agree with you that Nadal doesn’t have much left in the tank. But this is not a tragedy at all. He has won what, 3 Slams since beginning of 2017? This has all been gravy since 2016 was an injury filled year for him.

It's all gravy now.

As for how long Nadal will play.. I'd guess 2 years. The fact he had not been planning on marrying till his career was over - but now will wed this fall, indicates to me he is not planning to stop any time soon.
