Nadal is looking ominous

om·i·nous
ˈämənəs/
adjective
  1. giving the impression that something bad or unpleasant is going to happen; threatening; inauspicious

I have to agree, for something bad is about to happen to him (again), en l'espace de quelques heures.

Who said Federer made a mistake? I don't think he made a mistake. He's actually enhanced his legacy in the last couple years even without winning a slam. Just by making 2 Wimbledon Finals and a USO final at the ages he did he's improved his legacy, IMO.
That is one way of looking at it, but for me, when i see all time greats like Nadal and Fedrer losing to guys they used to beat with consumate ease (Djokovic included) i think they are best to retire. Borg is a case in point. If he had carried on and endd up losing every time he squared off with McEnroe many would argue McEnroe was better, but nobody would say that now would they. I totally agree you can flip things round as you suggest and it must be said, and Djokovic fans will hate this, without Fedal there is no tennis.

On this Federer point. Lets be honest, tennis would be even easier for Novak if Roger walked away, and then the whole game would fall in popularity. Same with rafa, although maybe not to the extent of if Roger bailed.

Look at anywhere they play in the world. The fans are always rooting for R and R .

The game would be so much worse if the Fed left.

Agreed. Tennis would collapse without both Federer and Nadal and that may be why both soldier on but neither is even half the player they were and there is an argument to call it quits.

Watching Nadal against Sock and Fogini there are definite signs his movement is gettin back to near his best and as a result the FH starting to look more potent. Win or lose against Djokovic the signs are definitely lookin good for 2016. He also is looking less tired than he did in previous matches this year and im really optimisitc about 2016 providing he keeps improving.

Rafa's house is RG and Flushing Meadows, tomorrow he is well and truly a guest at Djokovic's house and if he can get a set that will be huge for his confidnce and part of the rebuilding process.

I never thought Nadal had lost significant foot speed. Maybe not fit enough but movement has been there.

He is serving sharper angles and hitting forehands better. I don't think he has full confidence in forehand yet and pushing it a lot of times rather than striking it though....
