Monday was a special day for Rafael Nadal. The Spanish player officially opened a suite named after him at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort with many special guests, including Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco and the Monte Carlo Masters tournament director Zeljko Franulovic.

The stunning suite, which has an area of 92 sq metres, features a t-shirt signed by Nadal, his tennis racquet, shoes, bag, some photos of Nadal's ten triumphs at the Monte Carlo Masters. At the Monte Carlo Masters, Nadal won consecutive titles between 2005-12.

From the title you'd think he's a duke or a prince now. It's just a hotel suite name. It's an advertisement for a hotel. How is that different from Federer's pasta ads?

LOL pasta brand will find another guy to advertise it when Feddy is old. But the Rafa suite will last forever and will become the preferred place to stay for the European glitterati.

Does Nadal sleep with you if you stay there?

I don't believe it. When has he ever fought a dragon?
Dragons? Ha! Any wimp can slay a mere dragon!

Sir Mury beat the Loch Ness monster in a boxing match, some say the Loch Ness monster was so humailted that he hid away forever, never to disturb the world again.

Now that I’ve told you this tale of heroism, I’ll need about tree fiddy.

Nobody will care what's on the door, if they even bother to read it.

But the truth is that none of these will ever manage what Rene Lacoste and Fred Perry did as far as personal branding goes.

The suite number is 1029.

10 for his current FOs and 29 for eventual Slam total?

Poor imitation of the suite at The Carlyle. :)

When Federer endorses things it's because he's a greedy b*stard who has sold his soul to commerce. Other players are just allowing certain products to receive the light of their presence.

Interesting observation from someone whose username is "Fedforever".

Yep. Noticed the usual suspects haven't shown up to cry and whine about how evil Federer is. Or why Federer fans need to start thread about him, and the usual nonsense.

Way too much hypocrisy.
