Nadal is the only top 5 player that Murray doesn't have an edge over now

Murray KILLED Federer at the Olympics 6-2 6-1 6-4.
Murray OUT-CLUTCHED Djokovic at the US Open 7-6 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2
Murray OUT-CLUTCHED Ferrer at Wimbledon 6-7 7-6 6-4 7-6

Whereas Murray lost to Nadal at their last 3 slam meetings:
2011 US Open Nadal 6-4 6-2 3-6 6-2
2011 Wimbledon 5-7 6-2 6-2 6-4
2011 Roland Garros 6-4 7-5 6-4

Nadal has also defeated Federer, Djokovic and Ferrer at their last slam meetings.

And so begins the Murray-Nadal era, 2013-2016.

Roland Garros is a forgone conclusion, with Nadal winning 6-8 clay events between now and June. Wimbledon and the US Open should be closer.

You conveniently "forgot" that Murray lost his last two matches against Djokovic (and only really won the USO because of the weather) and is 2-2 in his last four matches against old man Fed (including a straight-sets loss in their last meeting and a wallop in front of his home crowd at Wimby).

He also conveniently forgot to mention that Murray fed Nadal a bagel in their last meeting. Of course, if they were to meet this year, I don't know if the dynamics of their rivalry would change, but it would be interesting to see Nadal play major winner Murray.

Fail thread.

And Djokovic lost to Kei Nishikori at 2011 Basel 6-2 6-7 0-6. New to tennis much?

But isn't tennis all about being able to handle different weather conditions whether they be extreme heat, cold, wind, etc? Saying that the only reason he lost was because of the weather sounds like a terrible excuse.

Lol...I've begun to think that we should institute a 'ping' sound every time a Djoko fan on here mentions the weather as a reason for their hero's otherwise 'inexplicable' loss in last year's USO final! :p

Sure, but the facts still don't support the OP's theory. At all.

NSK - Best thread in world HISTORY .................................................................................................. FAIL :)

h2h advantage over every one of the top guys.. Who else has that?

If Djoker/Fed were to get Rosol'd every now and then on clay that H2H advantage wouldn't be there.

Not their fault if Humbalito fails to get to them outside of clay.

NSK - Why type a reply to yourself when you can just talk to the mirror

You fail HARD

No, you 'fail HARD'. I'm not NSK (I believe his actual username is nadal_slam_king, show some respect) and I'm certainly not talking to myself in this thread. Then again, you are a part of the most paranoid tennis forum in existence, Talk Tennis. :-P

Just gets better and better - sooooooooooooo funny it hurts :)

The bit in bold makes you an arse hole.
What's the excuse for the straight set defeat to Murray in the Olympics then?
You do know Murray was exhausted and carrying an injury at the AO 2011 final?
Not nice when someone tries to minimise a player's victory isn't it.

Playing in the middle of a tornado isn't really Djoko's forte. FFS, he lost a set to Ferrer in those conditions and we all know how good Ferrer is against Djoko.

I'm not going to say Djokovic would've won if the weather conditions were perfect. But this, like Fed's win in the Madrid Ice Rink, has a bit of an asterisk on it.

Whereas Murray does it all the time? Murrays greatest beatdown in an MS final came during a gale @ IW versus Nadal. Have a word with yourself.

IIRC it was a five set match. By the time the fifth set rolled around - there was no wind, so what's your excuse for Novak being broken 3 times in that set? It was too dark for Novak? Too New Yorky? It wasn't Novak's fault - big boys did it and ran away?

I'm saying that in a match with weather like that, luck becomes a bigger factor.

There's no point in arguing over this. In all likelihood they will play again Sunday, so we'll just see what happens then.

There's no point in arguing because you know you have no argument - that's why you ignore the question as to why Nole lost the 5th set.

Sunday's match will have no bearing on the validity of Murray's USO win. That's just you clutching at straws.

I remember that match and how badly Andy was bothered by the insane wind. He lost badly because of it, and is not a great wind player, so this wind excuse for him winning the USO is bs. He won that slam fair and square.

Why is it "in all likelihood?" Just wondering.

OK - tell me the luck that Murray got due to the weather. Tell me the weather related things that happened in the 5th set that led to Murray's win.

It's bollocks. If Nole had won you'd have been waxing lyrical about how he can adapt to the conditions.

That's putting it badly. Rafa beat him like a ginger stepchild that day.

The main reason why Djoko (uncharacteriscally) botched the USO 5th set has to do with getting scr-wed by the scheduling. Nothing to do with wind. ETA: Novak is prone to slow starts, wind or not.

Since Nads is retired I guess he can sleep easier knowing he got the best of a current one slam wonder, if only he could say the same about Rosol.

How was he scr*wed by the scheduling? Didn't he have Ferrer in his semi?

She means because he had to play Saturday, Sunday and Monday. But Saturday was just 2 sets and Sunday was 2 easy sets - and it's Djokovic we're talking about.

Apparently he can play five hours and 5 sets then come back and play another 5 sets and win, but he can't play 4 sets over 2 days then play another 5 sets and win.
