Nadal joins Borg in the 30%+ club

Nadal is now one of only three double digit slam winners who has won over 30% of the slams he has entered. Extraordinary for a 36 year old.

Percentage of slam wins out of tournaments entered

1. Tilden: 43%
2. Borg: 39%
3. Nadal: 34%
4. Djokovic: 29%
5. Laver: 27%
6. Federer: 24%
7. Emerson: 20%

How does lack of entry due to injury or otherwise affect these percentages?

Be interesting to see what these percentages look like in terms of slams won over number of years on tour. Every year has four slams (other than when a slam got cancelled)

Do you have a hard time understanding that there are different surfaces in tennis?
Yes there are different surfaces but I still don’t know why do we need to differentiate them for this stat. Its not like people have to play 5 matches on clay to win the tournament but 7 matches will non clay surfaces. I mean how is winning an RG different from winning a Wimbledon?

Because if we are talking about Nadal’s slam win ratio it’s important to understand that it varies enormously by surface.

While what Nadal did is incredible we shouldn’t simply combine all slams into on group

Nadal won 77% of all RG he played (ridiculous beyond words)
but he won 17% of non clay slams he played

Hard to believe you are serious. Thanks for the arbitrary distinction but the point stands.

are you new to tennis?

You just keep spamming the same irrelevant points. Why not discuss how many were won with crescent moons on the night of the finals next? Your attempt at adding context is laughable and reeks of desperation. Worse yet, you are trying to present yourself as some kind of objective observer.

Hush child

Well, two can play at that game.
Federer won 35% of slams entered before Nadal and Djokovic had both won slams.
But he won only 17% of slams entered after Nadal and Djokovic had both won slams.

I just want it to always be awesome! Is it too much to ask that Novak always win?

They'll push each other until they're dead by the looks of it.

The point you made in the other thread hit the nail on the head though... Djokovic choosing not to get vaccinated... he has severely damaged his chances.

Luckily for him, he doesn't have significant injury history and will be able to play longer so who knows...
