Nadal looked so sad like was going to cry

Why would I be crying? Djoker proved he is superior in every way to Nadal playing at his peak best. :)
Yes, Djoker is superior to Nadal when Djoker is playing at his peak best and Nadal isn't. And Nadal is superior to Djoker when Nadal is playing at his peak best and Djoker isn't.

Wow, what a discovery! Somebody call Stockholm, I think I know who is winning the Nobel Price this year! Oh, wait, I guess they don't award a Nobel Price of Obviousness. Please, carry on. Nothing to see here.

I disagree. This is Novak's 1st Wimbledon win, and the 1st one is always the most emotional, not to mention his favorite slam. .
Yeah. I remember Roger was such a cutie pie when he won his first. Crying and everything
Sorry I'm getting a bit nostalgic here :(

I felt for Nadal a little bit, but come on. :P He's won so much, it was time that someone figured him out and came out on top. If Nadal is hurting today, imagine how everyone else feels all the time. :P

Djokovic's celebration was tasteful, decent and appreciative, and I can't understand anyone saying it was over-the-top. This guy has been over-the-top before. Today was not one of those days.

Your premises are incorrect loser. Djoker did not play his best today. Nadal played his best. Djoker still won. Djoker >> Nadal. It's prize by the way.

Agreed. Novak was very dignified today. I guess it's part of Nole 2.0's new features.

Nadal looked slightly annoyed to me in the ceremony. I have a feeling he doesn't mind losing to Roger so much for whatever reason but doesn't like losing to Djokovic at all despite the fact that he still does lead the H2H . I think, for all his 'friendship' with Novak, Nadal seems to prefer Fed overall . :) Maybe because he didn't like Novak camp's little 'celebration' after Madrid. Quite possible. :)

Djokovic is from Nadal's generation. Federer isn't.

Novak probably didn't celebrate as much because the result was much more eminent than the Tsonga match. After the second set, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that Joker would win.

Yes Nadal played his best. 5 times this year and each time the ****s claim Nadal never played his best :) LOLLLLLL. Now that's funny if you want something to HAHA at.

Oh come on. Even if I wasn't a fan - where was his good forehand when he needed it. Rafa did not play at his best. He has beaten them all and will contiue to do so. To quote Djokovic 'anyone in the top hundred can beat anyone in the top ten if they are having a bad day' Rafa was having a very bad day for him

I am sad for poor Rafa's sister, anyhow congrats to Nole, his celebration was quite normal compared with those Rafa used to do.

Similar to Federer's bad days against Nadal. Put simply, Nadal cannot play with calmness against Djokovic because on some level he fears him, just the way Federer feared Nadal. Djokovic is out there making him play badly, which is some feat since Djokovic has turned the mental advantage around from a posistion of being 16-7 down on the H2H and losing 2 big matches on hardcourt (US Open final and WTF round robin) to now beating him on all surfaces in 5 big finals and now only 16-12.

Nadal didn't cry. I just wonder if losing to Djokovic for 5 straight matches is going to affect him to the point that he might tank a match at the US Open to avoid playing Djokovic and losing a 6th time.

Nah, his celebration was fine. I actually like it when he ate the grass, don't think I've seen that before.

Nadal has every reason to look sad. He is 0-5 this year against the man who not only overtook his number one ranking, but his stranglehold of grand slam events.

The thing that is mentally killing Nadal right now is the fact that Djokovic has an answer to every weapon of his. It showed during the finals and its obvious Djokovic has gotten into Nadal's head like no other player in Nadal's career.

Nadal very well could be the Bjorn Borg of this generation.

Yeah but part of that is that Djokovic is playing RIDICULOUS defense these days. Nadal was struggling to win points at times when he was painting the lines. Federer troubles Djokovic more because his default game is to be aggressive, and take it earlier than Nadal. Nadal is giving him more time, allowing him to run down shots, and Djokovic's backhand is maybe the best on the tour.

Nadal simply has to be more aggressive. He can't get nervous, or lack belief and go into defensive mode. He has to play like he did at the US Open. Even then it could be tight. Djokovic is ridiculously good.

He can hope Fed will end up in Nole's half and knock him out in the semi.

I just saw the interview on the nets.

Nadal didn't cry. Looked very sad and reflective but that's all.

Perhaps he did cry in the lockerroom but there was no crying in the interview.

They need to do away with these NBC interviews after the ceremony. The losers want to get off the court as fast as they can, just look at Fed and Nadal after their loses.

If was great to see the cheating Spaniard lose and to see a new Wimbledon champ. Keeps the season interesting and gives the likes of Federer and Murray motivation and encouragement that Rafa can be beaten.

Should be a cracking USO.

It takes a BIG man to cry,but it takes a BIGGER man to laugh at him! I love RAFA!! The better player won today:)

Actually I found Djokovic to be a lot calmer than on previous slam wins. I did not see him do his chest pump or do anything crazy. His parents did not look like they were out of control either. In any case, it is his win to celebrate however he wants to. First Wimbledon win is a big deal. Definitely more prestigious than other slams. It is the one that all players long to win.

Leave the guy alone. It is his time now. I am not a fan of his gorilla chest pumping and all of that stuff, but, I did not see that today. He seemed to want to try and take it down a notch if anything. Throwing the racquets into the crowd was a nice touch.

I also was crying inside when I saw your avatar. Some people here actually don't like ugly broads, how about changing it to something less offensive?

your classification of some women is much more offensive than any ugly picture anyone could have in their avatar. ask yourself how does your mother look at the age of that woman in his avatar.

Djoker did ok. Remember Nadal climbed the stands to his team which I think was ok too.

About lacking class...djoker parents are worst imo, too noisy, too ignorant

Djoker win was huge, beating Nadal in a major final is toughest task in tennis, like it was For Rodge when he was at his peak.

Very good point, well said.

Yes, my remark was classless and I will admit to it. It doesn't reflect my view of women, and I was just trying to annoy the poster in question.

I think it was well deserved, he has been starved of slams for a long time. Its a whole new step for the man
Again, I agree with this. Djoker has lived below the long shadow of Federer and Nadal for a long time, and instead of vanishing, he has found a way to come through in spectacular fashion. Well done.

It doesn't change my view of some of the comments by some posters here though.

I am not a Nadal fan BUT I think Novak's celebrations were a little over the top. I know people won't like my comment but I feel Novak Djokovic's family lacks class.

You can tell from the Wimbledon crowd their applause was polite BUT Novak's parents are so unfriendly. I think Novak definitely is a great champion but his parents just don't seem like nice people they boast too much.

You can see that Rafael was just crushed because he hasn't lost a grand slam final in four years. I thought Rafael and Novak were friends? It's not like Novak never won a slam before but I felt bad for him. It looked like Rafael was going to do a Roger Federer and cry. Maybe Nadal is crying in the locker room right now? I think Nadal needs to study the tapes of the final to improve against Novak. I was shocked that Nadal admitted to John McEnroe that losing to Novak so many times got into his psyche. So often tennis players claim that it doesn't affect them losing to the same player over and over.

You are right, this celebration was much more civil and down to earth.

I think Novak's celebration was actually tamed. If you want to know what is a huge, over the top (literally!) celebration look no further than Nadal's Wimbledon 2008 victory. Nadal looked sad because he lost a huge final and he's used to people laying down in slam finals for him, and it didn't happen for the first time since 2007. Nadal used to beat Fed and then he had cake walks with Berdych and Soderling. Even Djokovic in USO 2010 wasn't much of a fight to Nadal.

But wait a sec, I though Sod was Nadal's boogeyman?

Why would he lay down in finals for him if he wasn't willing to do so in 4R,QF and other stages in which they met in GS's ?

Also, Djokovic layed down so much that he was the only guy to win a set against Nadal in USO 2010 and could have actually turned one of those around if Nadal didn't serve terrific for large stretches of the match.

Because the silicone-enhanced woman that serves as yours is just so appealing, right? Yuck. I'd wager there are lots of women on here who find your avatar "offensive."
