Nadal looked so sad like was going to cry

Catch McEnroe's interview with Nadal at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63lvpjoGAhg

It is plain to see that Nadal was not only "going to cry" but was actually crying during the interview. It's difficult not to feel bad for the guy, but I still think it's kind of amazing how his mannerisms so closely mirrored Federer's when McEnroe interviewed him after the 2008 wimbledon loss.

I think you may need to get your eyes checked.

Nadal looks very sad and disappointed but I don't see any tears on his face when McEnroe is interviewing him. I guess he did cry backstage(probably, this guy cried when he won RG 10' so it's very likely) but on camera? Nope.

Speaking as somebody who saw this live in HD, you could definitely see tears welling up in his eyes, and light reflecting off ...errm... moisture under his eyes. If you know how Nadal normally speaks, it is quite clear that Nadal was close to openly breaking down in front of Johnny Mac. Just because he's not loudly and emotively crying doesn't mean the tears aren't surfacing just the same.

Well...even if Nadal cried so f**** what?

Actually I like tears. It showed how much a player TRULY cares.

I admired Roger for breaking down in AO 2009, because it told me that he REALLY REALLY wanted to win. And he did. 3 slams after that disappointment.

The fact that Nadal is sad, crying or whatever - shows that he cares enough about the game to work harder than ever and to do his best for the next time.

You have to hate losing to be a great champion. That's what Pete did. When he lost, it looked like someone had kicked his dog...

I am not a Nadal fan BUT I think Novak's celebrations were a little over the top.

I don't think anything is wrong with crying. I was just pointing out how similar this scene was to the post-match interview with Federer at the 08 Wimbledon.

Im not finding what's wrong with a fistpump and whatever else he did there. ANYONE doing that wouldn't bother me. It's nothing compared to three LONG, PRIMAL screams.

A kinky gyration plus a massive fist pump. And in front of a Lumber Liquidators sign too. *Shakes head*

You do know that being close to crying and actually crying(as in tears leaving your eyes) are two different things?

I'm looking at the interview in high def right now and although Nadal does have watery/moist eyes(or whatever you wanna call him), he isn't full on crying.

Rafa is looking as he is fighting back tears but that's about it.

As I said, perhaps he cried backstage but with JMac I didn't see it.

Semantics, really.
