Nadal lost out to Federer in the ATP Fans' Favorite Award.

Well I congratulated Nadal in the other thread and I think Fed should be congratulated in this one.

Regardless of how the voting is done, this is the eighth straight year he's won the poll, going all the way back to 2003.

Clearly he's forged and maintained a connection with a great many tennis fans around the world.

all the awards atp gives at the end of the season is nothing more than a joke.we cant now who is more popular with this stupid voting system.stefan edberg award is also a joke.i dont mean fed is a bad guy or something, but he clearly not good enough to win it 6 times as well.rafa isnt best thing since the slice of bread neither fed.i couldnt care less about this awards.

Federer edged Nadal in a fans-voted category which he has always held in high esteem, the ATPWorldTour.com Fans' Favourite presented by RICOH (Singles). The Swiss won the award for a record eighth consecutive year, but it was not without a fight. Federer emerged a winner with 47 per cent of the vote ahead of Nadal, who attracted 42 per cent of votes.

But IMO, Nadal is still goat.:D

RafaBestVamos

What??????

Even after Veroniquem's 3 million votes?

It proves zip since anyone can invent any account and vote as many times as they like. The only thing it proves is which computer geeks have time enough to waste to spend millions of hours voting compulsively.
We all know Rafa has millions of fans and triggers excitement wherever he goes. If they ever make it a "one man one vote" process, which would be the only fair and accurate way to proceed, then it will start meaning something.
As it is, it's worthless.

The other way to make it meaningful for you would be for Rafa to win it. Rafa winning an award is what justifies it as being a real award....

Didn't you say you voted for Nadal like a 1000 times? I haven't voted even once for this stupid popularity contest.

No? lol. CMM quoted someone on Roger's fb page that voted 1000 times. lol. Plus, you are not a ******* so no worries :)

Just the way once Rafa wins on a surface it becomes slow. Moral of story, ****s wars lack logic.

P_Agony? not a *******? If he ain't a ****, then nobody is.

Surprise surprise, I'm not a *******, because I couldn't care less about Federer as a person. I like his game and attitude and that's it. I used to like Nadal's attitude as well (but not his game) and if you look back at posts of mine from 2008 you'll see that. But trying to explain common sense to you is like talking to the air.

I only do one thing at Facebook, and that's to play a certain card game, and that's it. Its been a while since I even visited anyone's page.

With that I agree. People who claim surfaces are slow after Rafa won playing on them are laughable. Fact is, Rafa can play on every surface as good as anyone, because he's just a very good tennis player. No way around it.

I bet this was the last time this award went to Suisse. Next year fans around the world will finally see the light.

Your hero better learn how to speak English then. If he wants to reach worldwide domination and popularity, people have to understand what he is saying first. LOL.

Spanish is the second world's language. Maybe it's time for you to learn it. Especially when half of the counrty of yours is already speaking it.

Not in my country they are not. He still needs to master the English language to achieve worldwide fan domination. You can't understand a bloody word he is saying and I like him! LOL.

I believe the correct way to say that is, "the profession of translator was still in existence", not existent. Maybe you could use a translator.

My English isn't perfect and I'm aware of that. But I believe that given sentence sounds better in the way I wrote. However, as long as one is understandable it is okay. Nadal is understandable enough for me. If not for you then search problem in yourself.

no estaba bien. profesión existente, esto está bien.

I don't know if English is your first language, but look up linking verb. You can have an adjective after that. Profession was easy, profession was silly, profession was existent, profession was nonexistent. It's not a problem.

I don't have a problem with Nadal. I think he is a great tennis player. I am just saying that his English is not very good and he is difficult to undertand at times. In order to achieve the popularity that Federer has with fans, I think he needs to work on it a bit. Tennis is not just a European sport obviously.
I love watching him play tennis though.

Oh sweet jesus, I'm so sick of you being completely biased about everything concerning Nadal and Federer.

Federer has been a top player for longer than Nadal, he's the most successful player of all time and he's the most famous tennis player in the world. It's almost a given that he will win fan favorite.

Roger has a million more fans on facebook. Nadal is doing great in terms of popularity considering how much less his name has been out there.

Just admit that Federer currently has more fans and stop attributing everything Federer accomplishes to some outside force (such as computer geeks voting over and over) that proves Nadal is actually superior.

veroniquem, this award means a lot because even after the thousands of votes you voted for Nadal, Fed still won. Incredible achievement.

That's a close poll. It's not often you get 2 players so close in a poll like this in any sport. Rare that you have 2 GOAT-contenders in the same era too. I wonder what Agassi and Sampras got in that poll int he 90s. Agassi was super-popular, but Sampras was winning everything, so it may have been a close poll for them too.

I agree it is rare to have two GOAT contenders. Heck.... we don't even have that now :)

oh damn, myherorafael was banned for a grammatical error. Now that is truly sad.

These internet survey awards are quite ridiculous anyway, whether Rafa wins them or Roger. Can;t believe we have nothing better to do than fight over it.
