Yes, Gimeno is the oldest winner in the OE at 34 years and 9 months. The oldest ever is André Vacherot at the age of 40
Almost right.
34 years, 10 months and 1 day.

Nadal is the oldest RG champion in the Open Era and All Time winning 7 matches (Gimeno won 6), at the age of 34 years, 4 months and 8 days.

The previous owner of this distiction was Australian legend Ken Rosewall who won the same quantity of matches as the Spaniard, at age of 33 years, 7 months and 7 days.

Wow that's too bad. Where did he say that, can I see the quote?

Q. Looking forward, one of the only things you haven't done in your career is win the ATP Finals. Is that a big goal? You haven't played much this year, so you have a better chance there because normally you would arrive in London pretty tired after a long year.
RAFAEL NADAL: I don't know. I even don't know my calendar. I don't know what I going to do after here. I can't tell you if I going to keep playing or not keep playing for the next couple of months.
I didn't decide, so I am not sure if I am going to keep going on the normal calendar or if I stop playing until next year. Is something that I have to decide. So don't make sense today to speak about the World Tour Finals because I really don't know if I going to play it or not. Is just conversation I need to have with my family and team especially during the next couple of days. Need to calm down the situation and analyze the future, because we are facing a tough situation, as everybody knows.
In terms of Australia, 14 days of quarantine before the tournament start. Is the moment to be smart and make the right decisions in every single moment. I am just doing my best to not make bad decisions. To make the right decisions, I need to think only about what I need to think.
Now and before this match, I was thinking about Roland Garros. Doesn't matter what's going on later. Probably after tomorrow we going to start thinking about what's the best possible calendar for me.

To me you could read this and think he's not even 100% sure he'll play AO

A lot of people watched the French Open final together at Rafa's academy.

Look at Toni Nadal's (in a dark green shirt) excitement after Rafa won:

:)
A very happy moment to watch but I am surprised by how many people there are with zero social distancing as well as without masks. I hope they are all safe.

I think Nadal should play Bercy and WTF. He can slip to number 3 If Dominic wins WTF and that could change a thing or 2 for his AO draw
Interesting....So confused with current rankings I didn’t know that was possibility.....Ummmmm....I do think he needs to play some tennis between now and AO....However indoor HC really doesn’t help the body....In saying all that he may not even go to AO.....Tough call....

Well honestly he can afford not to go. He will most certainly destroy the slam records through RG itself. He is most certainly getting 21 at RG, if he doesn't go to AO

From Nadal's post match conference, I think he will definitely go to the AO. However, it is uncertain whether he will play the WTF beforehand.

Sant Llorenç des Cardassar City Council has honoured tennis ace Rafa Nadal as an adopted son of the town for his involvement, intervention and economic contribution to those affected by the horrific storms and fatal floods on October 9, 2018.

A minute of silence is being held at 13:00 on Friday to pay tribute to those who died in the "fatal torrent" in Llevant de Mallorca two years ago."

A plenary session is scheduled to approve the declaration of Rafa Nadal as adoptive son of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar and a street in the town will be named after him.

The City Council said the generosity and altruism of thousands of people, including Rafa enabled the town “to move towards normality quickly."

The Majorcan tennis champion joined an army of volunteers who "helped to remove mud with their bare hands,” organised a solidarity race and donated a million euros to the victims.

Sant Llorenç City Council said Rafa has demonstrated his love and affection for the Municipality and its inhabitants time and again and that he is a special person who deserves recognition.

Friday marks the second anniversary of the floods that swamped Llevant on October 9, 2018, killing 13 people and causing millions of euros worth of serious damage to homes and businesses in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Artà, Son Servera, Manacor and Capdepera.

Sant Llorenç des Cardassar bore the brunt of the disaster which affected around 35,000 people.

One of the best Spanish-speaking analysts reels off Nadal's destruction of Djokovic that gave him his thirteenth RG trophy and twenty-Major tournament, equaling Federer's record.
Tactics, strategies, mentality, stakes, all broken down by Sebastian Cala.

That Wimbledon 2008 point was so pivotal. Basically that is what in a way crushed Fed's spirit and led to the break at 7-7 in the fifth.
Nadal hits a smash and Fed has an unbelievable reflex get and somehow the ball lands in the right hand corner of the baseline. After 4 hours play, Nadal runs back to the baseline, pivots around, hits a tough smash from the baseline. And then hits a inside out off forehand winner - had to in the point almost three times.
