And that concludes the night! Epic day/night and so happy to have finally seen Rafa in person. His times in the US playing are usually when I can't really get away so this worked out awesome.:)

TERRIFIC pics... felt like being there. Happy for you.

Re limp, have noticed Rafa being stiff, dragging one leg, not bending a knee as he plops to the presser chair quite a few times . Seems to be stiffness/soreness and he has gone on to win the tourney [RG many times with such signs].
Guy is such a rockstar, hugely entertaining, here's to health and happiness to him and all of us!

True, all true but feel it is feeding other fans and their whole ‘Rafa is always injured when loses’ type comments....I believe everything Rafa says....Anyway I can’t wait to see him plan in 3 days :)
Rafa has been handling his congenital foot issue through out his career. Of course it leads to periodic inflammations and it's heart breaking to watch.
This corner is for Rafans to share their thoughts, where is the need to bother about what some idiots think or say?

Personally I trust my own eyes and Rafa's words... have never had any discrepancy.

Anyhow, it has been an awesome ride and I'm sure Rafa will provide us with more fun moments.

It's a miracle that he has as many slams as he does with that many injuries. I hope he can play the Us Open relatively pain free.

Rafa never plays pain free. His knee and/or his foot is always bothering him and he often has to play having had pain killers injected. He just doesn't talk about it very much but those of us who have been watching him for nigh 20 years can see when he's particularly bothered. But yeah, let's hope he can manage this hard court swing ok.

I've got some cool videos too. I'm not sure how to upload them here though. Still on cloud 9 after yesterday.:)

So how has Rafa serve looked in practice?
Does it look back to normal?
I'm sure those hiccups in spring were all mental

Does he get to pick his practice time or its random?

What a dream to watch Rafa live and so freaking close!

It is a dream of mine, good for you.
Thanks, it was a dream! I have watched him on TV for so many years and been such a huge fan it was so surreal seeing him that close. My dad even had some interaction with him as a ball went to him and Rafa came to get it and my dad asked Rafa and he could keep the ball and he laughed and chuckled and said sorry not now, later. I am going to try and upload the video of that. I got lucky enough to be videoing when it happened!

Didn't realize I had this on vid(took so many vids and pics it was hard to remember). He hopped on one foot a couple times after returning a serve. This was about 5-10 minutes before practice ended and had a little limp in his walk the rest of the time.

I see the hop but he doesn't seem to be walking any different imo

Yeah he didn't initially right after the hop in the video. Doubt it was a big deal but neither of us saw the hop in person(was trying to video and was still in aw he was like 10 feet away) but both of us noticed the slight limp at the end of practice.

Both of Rafa's wrists are going to be taped. Some Rafans are freaking out a bit over this.
It is usual for Rafa to have his wrists taped (= wearing tape under his wristbands) when it's very humid, to prevent sweat from flowing to the palm of the hand. He has explained it in his interviews. For example, an excerpt from Rafa's post-QF press conference on June 7, 2018:
Question. "Why did you have the tape applied on your arm [at the wrist] yesterday? The trainer came out to wrap."
RAFAEL NADAL: "Was very wet, very humid. The sweat was coming to my hands, so just to protect a little bit. Because if you have tape behind the wristband, then it holds a little bit more the sweat. That's all. Is not usual here in Paris, but this year is very humid. I don't know."

Yes the humidity is very high and he was sweating buckets. I figured he would tape his wrists in these conditions. Lets go Rafa!!!

I have been thinking about Rafa alot lately. While I expect him to win some more tournaments and some more Grand Slams and will be rooting for him for the rest of his career - if it for some reason doesn't happen I am grateful for the AMAZING career he has had! He will always be my GOAT no matter what! I don't care if Djokovic keeps wining, he will never ever be the one for me who I regard as the greatest! Rafa had to deal with both of the other big 3 and split right in half: Federer in the first half, Djokovic in the second half. That hasn't been as true for the other two.

I am so looking forward to his return to the tour! I am wishing him the best!!!!
