Award
Rafa arrived at the University of Alcalá (UAH), located in the city of Alcalá de Henares in central Spain, to receive the Camino Real award from the Franklin Institute of the UAH.
The award ceremony takes place in the auditorium of the UAH. Rafa will be presented with the award by Spain’s King Felipe VI, who has also arrived.

Nadal will 1000% be there in some capacity given the circumstances. It obviously depends on if he’s suffered a big injury, but if not, I’d also be surprised if he doesn’t play through a 1hr doubles match with Fed given the significance of that match. Even if it’s on a sore ab or bad foot, I think he’ll do itFederer said he wasn't sure who his doubles partner would be on Friday but it would be great if it was Rafa . It was always the case that it would be Rafa so I wonder whether they are not sure that Rafa will be at the Laver Cup or not. I haven't seen any signs of him arriving in London.
Not surprised....there was no way Rafa was going to miss playing with his friend, barring any emergency with Xisca.
Finally the serve is back, Vamos!!!!

I think Nadal looked better in his wedding photos. This is literally like the best he’s looked since 2008 lol
Fighting for number 1 or killing yourself to win WTF might be disastrous for him in context of being fit for the next season. I still think that after winning Acapulco flying to California for IW was a mistake that resulted with a broken rib that compromised his clay season. After Acapulco he should have rested and prepare for MC. Just like right now going for a dog fight with Carlos Alcaraz over no1 can destroy his off season in which he should recharge the batteries. Especially now that he has much more important things in his life in upcoming months. Just make sure that he will be seeded inside top4 for AO (and he will be) and he is good to go.
True and everyone knows it.It only felt like the event started when Rafa arrived
He has said he doesn't knw when he'll compete next.Saw that too.
I hope he plays a couple of tournaments before the WTF, but with Maria almost due I doubt it, he may not even play the WTF again this year.
And his haters still find a way to say that he is quick to make excuses when he loses a match. No one knew he broke his abs again... Damn. I hope all goes well in his personal life and he can think about tennis after all is good.
We don’t know the details but it’s pretty clear her pregnancy hasn’t been straightforward and that causes a lot of stress and worry. We know he is a worrier by nature so he’s struggling and on top of that he has his injury issues so he will understandably feel pretty low right now. Let’s just hope all goes well and they are safely delivered of a healthy baby and he can focus on home and getting better. He said he strained his abs in NY? He was definitely compensating on his serve, but I didn't think he restrained his abs.
And what does he mean by "I'm not well"? Personally or physically?
I hope everything is going well with Maria's pregnancy and the baby and her are well.
I doubt we will see him play before the AO tbh.
Rafa announced at his post-doubles-match press conference that he's not going to play more at this Laver Cup (post # 36,881).Has Rafa gone home? He's not playing the singles. I was not watching every minute of the first session, but I did not see him on Europe's LC bench this morning. Fed was there. I hope all is well with his family.

" As was predicted, Rafael Nadal left London on Saturday morning and went home to Mallorca."I had seen that, but has he returned to Mallorca?
Doesn’t everyone?I think Nadal looked better in his wedding photos.
Yes, I think his season is over. He’ll probably turn up at the WTF to fulfil his obligations as he’s qualified but he may not be able to train enough for it.We don’t know the details but it’s pretty clear her pregnancy hasn’t been straightforward and that causes a lot of stress and worry. Hope they'll publish an English version.New Book About Rafa
Éditions Amphora in France published a new book about Rafa titled “NADAL. Ultimate Warrior" (Translated from French via Google). The book was written by Guillaume Lagnel (a French journalist/commentator for Eurosport, L'Équipe and others) and photos used in the book were taken by Corinne Dubreuil.
