Rafa Nadal playing with his son (ElDesmarque)

Rafa Nadal spent more than five minutes with the fans, whom he did not abandon after the long wait, giving them photos and autographs with each one. " It would not be fair to the rest ," said the former tennis player to Tito González who was waiting for him with the microphone of 'ElDesmarque' at the doors of the hotel.

After leaving with his family at 13.30H this Wednesday, the Spaniard will go to rest, away from the pressure he has felt in recent years. However, judging by his statements at the tribute, it may not be the last time we see him on a tennis court. " I'm not tired of tennis, my mind is not tired, but my body can't keep up with my mind," said the player from Manacor in a phrase that some understand as an air of hope to see him again with the racket, although yes, it would be in an exhibition.

The picture in the tweet was taken about 5 years ago, when Rafa was awarded the Cruz de Plata al mérito de la Guardia Civil [in English: Silver Cross of Merit of the Civil Guard]. (See the YouTube video below.)
According to Spanish press, he was recognized for his close collaboration with the Guardia Civil. This includes his involvement with a promotional video for recruiting youthful talent to the police force.

The Rafa Team

Rafa’s agent Carlos Costa shows his tournament badges he has collected during 22 years, accompanying Rafa:

C.Costa has also worked at Rafa’s sports centre / academy in Mallorca since it was opened in 2016. He was the Head of Business Development and about a year ago, was appointed as the Director of International Development. I think, he’ll continue to work at the sports centre / academy.
